No New Posts First time in a long time. Chem in my Eyes.
<---- That is pretty much what I look like right now. One eye open and one shut, I was pulling my hose back toward the reel to roll it up today and the barb broke shooting 40% mix in my left eye. My helper was in the back rinsing and I needed water fast so I scrambled for a hose in the front of the house until I...

I found the following in an Amazon review.  If the glasses fog, we tend not to use them:"You can make ANY goggles virtually "fog free" (under most conditions) by marking them with plain bar-soap. Simply make a few swipes on the inside of the goggles with a plain white soap bar, then wip...

No New Posts Ladder Setup ( 1 2 )
My technicians use a 32ft fiberglass ladder, it is quite the behemoth when  fully extended. I was thinking about tying a rope to the top of the ladder so they can use some leverage to guide it, when placing it against the house, and taking it away from the house.   Any suggestions or do I need to tell my guys...

No New Posts Rigid brake lines....
We just had one give out.  Thank goodness we got back to the yard safely and didn't realize it until the next work day.  Be very cautious of rigid brake lines and any other safety hazards as a result of corrosion/rust  due to SH. $450 in labor plus parts...Far better than the alternative.... FAR better....

No New Posts Avoid ladder accidents ... (Preview)
The video is painful to watch, and the fall was so avoidable. The ladder doesn't fail, the user misses a step.  You will miss a step.  Plan on it. Use 3-Point Contact and no standing on top 3 rungs of straight or extension ladder. This guy fails both.  You can see it coming:

OSHA Guidelines for Personal Protective Equipment Found this 4 part, easy to read, OSHA guidlines doc this morning.  Part 3 is about "Arc Flash" and not relative except to the extend that if we get arch flash in this line of work, somebody's probably going to have a very bad day.  #TheRCIA
