You are wrong with both of your guesses. The info is on one of my
websites-Brink kanga roof

I am doing what #12,13,16 on your RCIA 50pt standards says I can do.

Sorry you have met a lot of bad roofers. Most of the good and
honest people in the roofing industry aren't found in bars.

Your whole sales pitch is off of two ARMA bulletins that do not say what
you are claiming they say. Read them word for word like I said earlier.

I understand you are using them both as a sales tool. No problem, just don't start believing
and telling me it says something that it doesn't.

If you click on make an appointment on my website, you will see that they can make an appointment
under (roof Cleaning / Roof Repairs / Roof Replacements / or warranty appointment)

If someone chooses a roof cleaning appointment, then I understand that is what they want or think
they want.

but I recommend whatever I believe is in the best.
interest of the homeowner and then let them decide. Everybody should show
video's and pictures to there customers. Otherwise they are making decisions
on something they can't even see. I say don't make the decision for them.

If I went to a home that had green shingles only a year old and they wanted me to
remove the and put on white ones. That is there decision. Do I say, no it's only
one year old and argue. Call them nuts. Make them feel stupid. No, it's there money.
If that's what they want to do then that's fine with me.

Educate the homeowner - do a good inspection - show them all of the inspection results -
Give them some options and let them choose.

Example - Leak in a valley - Roof is 12 yrs. old. Roofer 1 says I will fix it for 200 bucks and
uses some tar and mesh.

Roofer 2 says I'll do it for 1,200. I'll remove the shingles and install a new valley with ice guard/etc.

Who's ripping them off- Roofer 1 comes back once a year for the next 8 yrs. (20yr. roof) (1,600) without inflation.'
or even worse they end up noticing 5 yrs. down the road that it is leaking again. So now...factor in the drywall damages
and insulation that is ruined etc.

Roofer 2 gave them a warranty that would last them 8 yrs. for (1,200)
What's sad is 90% of the roofing company owners are choosing #1 and not offering #2.
That's a scam if you ask me. Offer them both. Don't decide for the homeowner or you are a pushy salesman.

I like your video, but doesn't that solution/spray become slippery when you are walking directly on it? Especially
when it is shown from the side view in the end. Looks steep from the side view.

Click here and you will see where they sell what I refer to as a spider cleaning machine

I just call it spider because I think it sounds better.  I also don't shoot the chemical out of the machine.  Instead

I use back pack sprayers.  The specs for the machine comply with the RCIA 50 pt.  number 12,13, and 16

OK. Like I said before, you can keep cleaning roofs in 4 seperate steps and coating them afterwards, like you have been doing. Or, learn to do it in 1 - 2 steps, like we do. Most of us can do a 2500 square foot [ under roof ] home, with a shingled roof in about an hours time ON THE ROOF and 2 hours drive up / drive away time. On average that is.

CONSIDER THIS DUMB SCENARIO:

If I went to "ROOFERS FORUM OF AMERICA" and posted:

"I am a new member here and I have been putting roofs on recently, I have been a roof cleaner for years.

My process, just starting out is to:

#1. Paint the plywood with aluminum roof coating.

#2. Carry my nails in my pocket and I use spikes, so they hold better.

#3. Then I use latex caulking around all the pipes and vents.

#4. Lastly, I water the roof with a garden hose and ask the homeowner if they see any leaks.

The roofers would give me a hard time and if I fought back and said I came there to learn, while defending my methods and quoting their list of standards back in their face, I would never get help, just insults. I would soon be a joke and they would hate me.

THE ABOVE PROCESS IS A JOKE OF COURSE. biggrin

As a roofer, perhaps you can imagine a more plausible, yet wrong way someone could go about roofing, that you KNOW much better ways to accomplish the job, if he would just ask nicely, like:

"I am new to roofing. I have been doing this process yada yada yada, so far. Could someone help me get started out properly? I sure would appreciate it. I came here because I figured my current method was improper and lengthy.

Then, maybe some roofers would be willing to teach me the ropes.

We are "Non Pressure" No Pressure" roof cleaners and your method does not fall into our knowledge base as being reasonable - as you may have noticed. confuse

If you had started out asking for help and not defending your own method in 300 word posts, I as well as most others here, would have laid out the process and directed you to every item you need. Another new member just posted:  "HELP"

{ Frank is his name } and was very humble about it.

I posted everything I could think of to get him started and told him once he had those items, I would gladly teach him how to build a gun and give him further tips.

He wants to actually clean roofs the RCIA way.

If you should decide to start over here, I would be glad to help you start doing 3 roofs in the time you are doing 1 now.

I hope you are not too proud to humble yourself down a bit and let us help you out. Otherwise, you will have to learn slowly, using the "search" button.

I do admit, I was rough on you. However, I have been an RCIA member since 2009 and among it's first to join.

You would be surprised just how often it occurs, that new members come here [ or guests ] and try to tell us how it should be done, fight, banter never give up and never gain a thing. I have seen it many times!

Let us help you out. You are now a fellow RCIA member!

Oh, and welcome to RCIA!!!

Gutterdog??

These are my exact copy and pasted comments that make your statement

not make sense, or Mr. Bergman.  But, I did like the funny roofing part!,

but it isn't what is going on here.......

Copy and Pasted exact words:

I'm a newborn in the roof cleaning industry

I am here for the knowledge though

I am not here to promote high pressure roof cleaning.  It says it huge across the my website

I am here to learn more and to find easier/quicker ways to clean

I am not here to be against you. I am here to be with you

I am sure I will adjust some things, and I planned on it.

That is why I paid 250 dollars to be part of this forum. So I could learn ways to speed up the process

I actually don't like using the spider. I do it for rinsing and just for show.

Any brands or stuff to stay away from?

The cleanings are my add on, and you can teach me.

I am here to learn a more productive way and the best way "your way"

Thanks,

Kyle

You took #2.

You could have used choice 4, the one you didn't consider.

Come here and ask how to clean roofs the way we do and after you got many helpful replies, said thank you.

You came with no questions, just many, many words, fights and defence posts. I guess you can't see that though, so I guess you can't be blamed. I have a nice friend who wears wrinkled clothes all the time. I have mentioned it to him [as an instance, not telling him he is always in wrinked clothes] a few times and he looks at his clothes and says "Really? Where? He just can't see it.

You joined 5 days ago and have 6 pages on this post. Compare this post. He joined 2 days ago and compare his attitude etc, with your own. http://roof-cleaning-institute.activeboard.com/t50889355/help/

It rains here every day this time of year. I can clean an average roof in under 2 hours, so I just need a break in the weather. If it's wet with rain, I put a bit stronger mix on.

You have a good rest of weekend too! smile

Thanks for the welcome email. I watched the
videos and everything. Did GoDaddy remove
the logo that guy was using? GoDaddy is a pain

I'm not somebody

You still got Bills pics up on your website

I'm not somebody, I came up the same way you have to come up. I got knocked around like you now. You have the right attitude, You gonna survive like I have. I did a couple of roofs with hydroxide Years ago, and stopped doing roofs. The granules that came out the downspouts we blew into the grass to hide them.

I'm not somebody that found this place and havent tried other chit first. I used to put 2 guys on ladders with home depot pressure washers, cleaning 4 inches at a time. Cleaning siding.  I used to put a turbo nozzle on concrete! I had my share of cutting window screening! We got so good at rescreening windows, we did 8 in less than a half hour once!

Forget everything you know, buy a 12 volt pump, some chem line, do some reading here.

Can't wait to see your pics of an RCIA roof cleaning!

My name is Kyle Brink from Erie,PA. That is not me? Are you seriously making stuff up in your mind. I have not said those things? Trying to stain my name by making stuff up. not a jerk, a whole list of red, white, and black statements that were all nice and asking for help. I copied and pasted so you wouldn't have to read back through all of them and actually realize I am not saying what you think I am? Take 10 seconds and read them? If you won't, then just read the last one? ????

Kyle, are you going to give roof cleaning a try with the 1 step process? Did you find a pool supplier in your area to get the good stuff?

Hi Ed,
I googled some pool supplies in my area. I am going
to go tomorrow. We have a 25 sq. to clean towards the
end of the week. So I am going to try to get everything
together so I can do the RCIA way. What do I ask the pool
people. Just ask for sodium hypochlorite?

Thanks
