I did a little searching and found this explanatory post, with photos. It's all you need to do roofs.

On shingles, use 35% pool chlorine, 65% h20 and at least 64 ounces of Dawn "Original" dish liquid-to thicken it up and slow it down and keep it wet. In a 100 gallon poly tank.{ on tile 50% and at least double the dawn, or it runs off like a waterfall.

Spray the mix on, keeping it wet [ no dry spots until all cleaned ] expect to hit it a 2nd time around here and there. If there are gutters, concern yourself mainly with the downspots not dumping on roots [ divert it into a hole- put a bucket under to catch runoff or a garbage bag on it to catch it. Remember to flush out the gutters tthemselves too. If no gutters exist, some of us tarp the plants and run sprinklers constantly and some just water. Either way, with no gutters, you have to rinse with a hose.

Kyle I suppose you could for sodium hypochlorite, and if the kid looks at you sideways ask for liquid pool shock I suppose.

When I finally found a source, I was walked through a maze of rooms. Finally sat down in a chair of a smoke filled room to a short fat guy sitting at his desk with no shirt on smoking a cigar. Talk about man-boobs? i thought it was a mob initiation. I told him I was a pressure washing company and he cut me short and said "blah, blah, blah, Ive heard it all before".

Hey Kyle, I just did a quick search for chemical suppliers in Erie. It shows 12. Not sure where you are exactly so you'll have to take it from here. The pool supplier is a good alternative if you can't get it from a chemical supplier,..but the pool guys are gonna charge you more most likely.

Yes, SH prices vary greatly throughout the country. I buy from 3 different pool stores in different parts of my area-depending on where I am that day. One place is $1.30 a gal and other $1.23 and a wholesale/retail supplier sells it to me for $1.08 However, in S. Florida there is a pool store every 5 blocks almost!{Slight exaggeration} I know some in Northern states pay $4.00 + a gallon? The average sized shingled roof will use up maybe 50 gallons of mix, at 35% that's still only 17 gallons. So the cost is not all that much to make $500 in a couple of hours. Be sure to get double of all equipment - 2 pumps, 2 deep cell marine batteries, 2 set ups of 200' of hose etc. 1 days breakdown, with no backup would have paid for it all it all! These 12 volt pumps last an average of 1 year-some less. If you can get your hands on Ammonyx Lo, from a chemical supplier, it is better than the Dawn. I buy it in 30 gallon tanks and average 1/2 to 1 gallon per 100 gal tank on tile roofs. 1/4 gal on shingles.

Kyle, purchasing online would result in VERY high shipping charges. Which would be fine if you n get the customers to pay for it. The option here would be if a local business has it delivered and then maybe you could work a deal there. Talk to your local water authority. You can use store bought by the gallon, but that is a serious pain. I can't believe there isn't a supplier within an hour of you.

WWhere is buckmans in pa? I would call them and have them give you a list of suppliers for your area.

We only have two competitive suppliers here in Tally! The only way we can do better here in Tally is to get our own holding tanks....which I've been looking into. I can get cost down to $1.40 gallon, but I have a minimum order each month. No problem in summer...but might be tough in winter.

Maybe I could sell SH to Ray from Capital!!!!!!!!

All the pool stores near me carry 10%

It's good you can at least get 12.5% Take that into consideration and do the math. 33% chlorine is goung to clean most shingled roofs-if you are using 12.5% instead of 35% at 10% chlorine.

But then, my 10% is fresh every other day or so at the store from the supplier, you might want to see how fresh your 12.5 is. Chlorine [ actually Sodium Hypochlorite ] { SH } starts losing it's strength after a few days and while buying 12.5 you may be getting 9% ???

Sh when brand new is above 12.5% They call it 12.5 because that is what averages when bought most times. That's what I remember being told? Keep your containers air tight and watch them blow up when the chlorine evaporates!

Actually, some of it starts out at over 14% but that is knowing they will be shipping it out in 55 gallon drums usually.

Pool store chlorine can be purchased in 10% or 12.5 % solutions, depending on the store you go to.

One of the 3 stores I buy 10% from now, used to have 12.5%

They are prob not moving it that fast. I buy from Henrys shop. Durring the winter it gets old. Just use more.

It's WAY hotter then 12% when delivered to my supplier. I talked with a delivery guy just about to take off in an 18 wheeler where I get my goods and he said they make it at around 15%-16%. After I loaded up that day with a fresh batch of SH, when I added water to my tank it looked like I dumped a 5 pond block of dry ice in a tank of water. So much visible vapors where pouring out of the top, I could have re-created " The Creature Form The Black Lagoon" movie.

What does that potent stuff cost per gallon?

I'd buy stronger, if I could get it, but 10% is all that's around here?

It's all math in the end. I pay and average of about $1.18 a gallon for 10%.

Lowest is $1.08 highest is $1.28 as of this week.
