Stacy The work can be physically demanding especially on hot summer days. Spraying is the easy part. Setting up ladders and moving multiple 100 ft lengths of water hose around is not easy work. Sometimes you end up moving potted plants, outside furniture and other items when the homeowner doesn't take care of those items. Use a helper and if you are physically fit you should do ok. My personal opinion is that the average woman could not do the physical work very easily. I know women that could probably do it as good or better than me, but my wife and a lot of other women that I know just don't have the strength to maneuver a ladder, etc. My wife helps me all the time, but if we switched roles throughout the day and she did the things I normally do, she wouldn't be able to do it.

With that being said, if you had a helper and you had more strength than the average woman, you could definitely do it. I'm not being sexist, I am just being honest.

I will have a helper and I will most likely be the "ground person". I have a long way to go before my first job....and I figure this is the best place to start:) Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Sounds good. I think anyone can spray a roof and do most of the work. I made my post based on what I do, and after seeing my wife struggle, I know it would be tough for a lot of women.

You could certainly run the business, and work most aspects of the business, and even if you had a good helper, you could do most of the physical work. It's not hard, some things are just physically difficult. With a strong helper, these physical things are much easier and I wouldn't exclude any woman from this profession.

I agree that your time will be spent better getting the work. Anyone that is physically capable can do the work. My wife just trained a new tech on Monday in the field, she knows all aspects very well. I would have trained him, but I was training a new sales guy the same day.

Now that my Wife has spent a year learning the ropes and running the business as priority owner, our MBE status is almost complete. Just did the audit inspection last week and looking good.

Her primary job is our communication and dispatching hub.
