Hey Phil,..yes,..it's not anything difficult,...my explanation may make it seem that way though,...you need two ball valves (PVC) and a Schedule 80 tee fitting,...simply plumb the tee between the tank and the inlet on the pump,..use one ball valve to open and shut the flow of roof mix,..the tee will allow the other ball valve to be placed before the pump,..in which you can simply hook up a clean water source,..or force feed it with a garden hose.

Just turn the ball valves as needed.

You will need to buy a few threaded short nipples to connect it together,..and hose barbs where needed,..they make everything you need in schedule 80.

I hope that explanation works.

Jeff

Jeff, Great explanation.  Force feeding water, do you mean hooking up a hose and just opening up the ball valve and letting the hose water pressure rinse it out.  Doing it that way won't mess up the pump at all?  I'm assuming you would rinse at the end of the day.  Do you think sodium thiosulfate(not sure of spelling) would be helpful for rinsing?

Hi Tom,...I personally use just water,..I think that should be all you need.,..using enough water is the key to rinsing,...I usually run it right back into the tank to add water for the next job,..but run at least 5 gal. through.

When rinsing everything you will want to run the pump just like you're using it to spray mix,...no need to run through the nozzle,..using a SS quick connect will allow for easy reming of the nozzles for rinsing.

I use an air diaphragm pump,..you may want to ask someone about hooking up a garden hose to a 12V,..I think it should be ok though,..as long as it's not like crazy high pressure. Just control the flow and pressure,..either from the hose itself or the ball valve will work also.

But even then all you would need is a clean 5 gal. bucket of water and let your pump suck from that.
