animals, insects, pets etc

i was just wondering if anyone had any interesting stories about pets, insects, etc. whether it be about having to move a dog kennel away from a house, having a pet follow you around at a job, bee hives, etc. i think this will get some interesting stories. i think and i'm sure you'll agree watching out for the home owner's pets is very important. i'd also like to hear of any runins with bees wasps hornets etc, and hear of any precautions to take. i'm sure a can of hornet spray is a good necessity for anybodys toolbox. thanks, any input is appreciated.

I have a customer who wanted her roof cleaned, but she wanted to wait til after Butterfly breeding season was over. She had an atrium on the back side of her home where she bread butterflies and then released them after the season was over.

I once had a Portuguese German Shepard chase me around the back yard of a house one time. I almost had to hit him over the head with a hammer. But I made it over the fence before he got me. Its a bitch when a dog don't speak English.

  I definately keep some wasp spray with me.  Almost jump off a roof  once being attacked by bees, luckily they stopped as I was getting to the edge of the roof.  Once I had a bee climb in my straw to get at my pop.  When I took a drink a got stung on my tongue.

Had a frog jump out of a gutter and hit me in the chest. Didn't know he was in the gutter. Frogs don't like SH. Scared the chit out of me.

Back when I worked for BellSouth, we had a installer open up a distribution terminal that had a large wasp nest in it. He un-did his safety belt and jumped from the pole onto a concrete driveway. Broke both legs. Wasp stings hurt less than broken legs. LOl

Most all wasp nests will go down and in most cases the wasps will drop like dead flies when sprayed with love. We do keep wasp spray on hand for PITA nests though.

We Cleaned a Roof for a customer last summer and my wife said that there were a lot of bee's around one of the eves. I figured yea, whatever, okay....I went and looked....HOLY Crap............There were thousands! As soon as I started spraying them I realized there were even more. They were only Honey Bee's (Thank God) and we were able to work around them with out them bothering us. Just happy they were not African Bees.

In another situation we sprayed the top level of a 2 story Tile Roof. The Chems rolled down to the first level where there was a mother and her baby Possum. Mama finally shook the baby off and got down by herself. I caught the baby, rinsed it off and tried returning it to it's mother. Not sure if the mother came back for it or not. I hope she did. I was on a very steep shingle roof and a customer asks me to spray the chimney, and a rabid mommy raccoon come  out after me! I sprayed her in the eyes with the roof cleaning chemical, she ran off the roof blinded,and bloodied herself all up smashing into houses because I blinder her, called animal control, they came with a pole and a noose, she had rabies they said, and I was right to spray her, she had baby raccoons in the chimney she was try to protect
I STILL feel awful blankstare

I have a handful of animal stories,..but my favorite is about a time I was working at one of my regular customers' house, and she came out and asked me if I'd seen "Rocky" her lab. I said "No,but he was just here"

When I was done working and cleaning up I found Rocky curled up and sleeping on the front seat of my van. I told her I found him,.. but she would have to be the one to get him out,..I would've felt bad ,Ha,Ha...
