I think they are $45. They are fiberglass and last longer if you wrap some reinforced tape around the fiberglass handle. went broke 2 of them last year.

There were some window guys in Charleston that had a really nice looking carbon fiber fiberglass wound pole. I can't remember the name of the company. I think the pole was $200 for a 24 or 36 footer. I will let you know if I can find their info.

Mike, wooster makes some great poles. I don't know if they have them by you. Lowes around here carries them.

Wooster poles do look good, but at Lowes the biggest one I have seen in MD is 18Ft. Just to short for most of our homes. Keep looking though Mike, I havn't been to every Lowes in MD (yet)

@ Bill I got the same one you got. Opening them up all the way, and over tightening the twist thing messes them up over time. I cant open mine up all of the way anymore because of cracks in it. The duct tape is because the twist locks dont work on some sections. I think a 36 ft one would be better. Never have to open it up all the way and a better than plastic construction. please share!!!

@ Tom can you find out if they make a 24 or 36 ft extension pole? please share? I seen a shorter extension pole that had a diff lock system.

EDIT: I got 2 extension poles that are water fed, in my shed somewhere? There heavy. Expensive too. Change out the quick connect tip for a screw on for the brush and take the hose out of it? Should lighten the weight? I think they were twist locks too?

We use the wooster pole from lowes and yes they are too short.

I like the snap lock they have especially.

Snap lock? The ones I seen had holes and a pin or whatever went in it? Much better, I think that the twist lock. just too short.

Mike, I'm almost positive that 18 feet is as high as they go. I can get most gutters from the ground with it. I have poles that are years old.

Ettore and Unger are two companies who make good poles. Janitorial supply stores or Window cleaning suppliers will carry them. I always preferred the Ettore poles and have alot of hours standing on one end of them lol

PTstate sells a product called Gutter Grenade,..it is potassium hydroxide based I do believe,...and I may tru some of that this year,...just for the sake of it.
Right now though, I personally use Purple Power from Wal-Mart @$4.97 a gallon,..and you can cut it at least in half,..and even thirds when the weather is warmer.
Temperature when cleaning gutters is the key really,..if it's below 50-60 and no sunshine,..they can be tough to impossible.

I was always gonna try F-13,...but shipping kills the value. I never tried it (yet) because I just didn't see myself switching from the off the shelf stuff anyhow.

I may try it sometime just to have the experience of using it and comapring it's ability to what I use now,..which works very well.

Jeff, I have a small sample size but the f13 does work better than the purp. I'm not sure if I'll reorder because like you said the purp works well enough and it's unlikely the homeowner will even notice the difference. I think I'd rather stick with the purp and invest the extra dollars into something else.

Hey Mike,.the gutters I clean are perfectly white when I'm done,..I don't leave anything left on them. So not using F-13 isn't going to make them better,..I was only ever interested in cost effectiveness because of the proclaimed dilution rate of the F-13,..and to simply try it.

I almost take offense to you thinking I'm purposely doing inferior work to save a few dollars. Because thats not the case.

I didn't do the best job choosing my words and certainly didn't mean to imply that your work is inferior in any way.

I've used both and the end results are the same, but the f13 is a bit more expensive however involves slightly less scrubbing. What I meant to say but didn't do the best job articulating is that the homeowner isn't going to notice a difference, because as far as the end result goes, there isn't one.

Looking back on it I guess that's an irrelevant point and again, when I replied to your post the thought that you do inferior work never crossed my mind.

We use Gutter Gernade and I figure my cost to be around $5.00 to make a five gallon bucket at 17:1. This includes the shipping cost figure $73.00 for a five gal and $25.00 shipping.

I use the f13 to clean gutters. Its very easy to put it on the gutter and rinse it off. I would think the purple stuff would take more time to apply. If it takes longer to clean the gutter. It cost more to do the job. I would pay the $20 bucks to ship it any day of the week

I get the same problem from the Mr Long Arm brand extended poles. I was buying new ones at $50 a pop. I called the company and they sent me a bunch of the tapered pole locks for free.
