I am also looking for another air pump. I have the All-Flo KE-038-B3. I think this model is kynar body with telfon/santoprene diaphragm and santoprene ball.

As best I can tell from viewing a description of model numbers from the 3/8" IR operator's manual, this is the model number that would match the All-Flo specs.

PD03P-AKS-KAT Kynar manifold, Kynar seat material, santoprene ball & Telfon PTFE/santoprene diaphragm material.

Bill Booze gave me this company name. TRI-STATE PUMP, INC. 732-223-3222. You can call them for a quote.

IR has other models with different materials.

I'm not sure I won't just buy another All-Flo from PWP. I'm not having problems with my All-Flo that were attributable to the pump. Usually I found something in my setup that needed tweaking. Usually the problem is traced to an air leak from a fitting that came loose from vibration. One must also consider the price. I have not located an IR pump with the same specs as the All-Flo for less money.

I appreciate your detailed response. I will look into the IR. I just cant keep coming off the roof 5+ times per job to disconnect the whip hose.

Much more dangerous, time consuming and frankly a pain in the neck.

I hate to hear you are having to climb down that many times during a job. Sounds like you may just have a lemon from All-Flo. I would call All-Flo and talk to the technicians. Maybe they can come up with a fix for your problem like sending the pump to them for a rebuild. If they can't help with the problem I would ask for an exchange. I think there is a thread on RCIA with the All-Flo contact preson.

These guys will set you in the right direction. You'll be set by spring and staying on those roofs. Don't forget the water trap just before the pump. I have one on the line leaving the compressor, and one he line as it enters the pump. Have you looked into Yamada? Chris T. swears by these. I have a 3/8 versamatic. Worked well this past year.

I am currently working on a NEW type of roof cleaning pump Guys that I believe will make us all think we have died, and went to heaven!
Until then, stalling issues can usually be traced to other problems, though ALL air pumps do have this tendency.
Air Pumps were invented in the 50's by Jim Wilden of Wilden pumps. The patents expired long ago, and now everyone makes one. These pumps are simplicity exonerated, and can be considered to be pretty much all the same, except the Yamada has a reset button to address the stalling issues. The MATERIALS the pumps are made out of are FAR more important then the particular brand, in my experience.
All Flow is a small American Pump Company that offers a 5 year warranty.
Guys, thats pretty strong, and Lori from Pressure Washer Products is well known for honoring that warranty. She is one of All Flo's largest sellers of pumps, and they would not dare cross her on a warranty issue. Same with Bob from Pressure Tek, he is a huge distributor, also well known for taking care of his customers.
Keep in mind that when you buy a roof cleaning pump from some pump place that does not make it's main income from sales of pumps to roof cleaners, you take your chances!
They may not be as quick to take care of you the way Bob from Pressure Tek or Lori from Pressure Washer Products will ?
Same with Deluxe Cleaning Systems, Sunbrite Supply, and our friend Russ from Southside Equipment up in Louisville, KY.
All these fine distributors mentioned are familiar with the roof cleaning industry.
You are not going to hear "WTF should I fix it, you ran BLEACH through it" from any distributor I have mentioned!
Something to think about if you go outside our industry to purchase a roof cleaning pump ?
It would be accurate to say that Bob from pressure tek and I are not exactly friendly (we once were), He lost his AZZ on some roller pumps he was told would do the job but didn't. Bob took a huge loss, and replaced every one, at a huge loss to himeslf.
I respect him greatly for that.
I think WHERE you buy your roof cleaning pumps from are as, or more important then the brand of pump you buy. Because ALL roof cleaning pumps WILL fail, trust me.
IMHO, this is when having a person like Lori, Bob, Russ, Nicole, or the good people at Delux behind you to get it replaced, or repaired.
TRY calling some internet pump sales outlet, or an Ebay Store, when u can't get an air valve back together, or it freezes ?
My friend Larry from All Surface had his All Flow Roof cleaning Pump stall, he called Lori and Rex, and was told to simply shoot some WD 40 into the air valve.
Pump Fixed instantly!
Bob from Pressure Tek has also helped hundreds repair their pumps in the field, as have all the other roof cleaning pump distributors mentioned. Though I don't know Russ from Southside Equipment all that well, I have heard similar stories about him.
This NEW roof cleaning pump I have discovered may change everything, and I have made Bob, Lori, and Delux aware of it. IF it proves to hold up (unknown at this time) Air Diapraghm Roof Cleaning Pumps will become obsolete! It is simplicity in itself, with little or nothing to go wrong, and super easy to FIX, when and if it does!
It has more pressure ( a weak point of air pumps), no pulsation, great suction lift, can be run dry, and can be capable of flow rates like a wet dream.
It need no bulky air compressor, and can be made into a small, but deadly skid that will FIT on already crowded trailers, etc.
It CAN be powered by a small gas motor with a pulley system, or with an electric motor (u will need a small generator or plug in at the customers house)
I emailed Bob from Pressure Tek about this pump, asking him to put his expertise to work in developing a gas motor belt/pulley drive for it. I have not heard back from him (it has been 3 weeks) Lori was also told, as was Delux. It is my belief this pump will be the pump of choice for roof cleaning use, once it becomes known. Don't chit can your air pumps just yet, just be aware I brought the air diapraghm pump to the roof cleaning world, and I think I have found something even better.

Guys, I have been SICK with undiagnosed Diabetes the past 18 months, barely able to function. I am starting to feel a LOT better, and my energy is coming back as my blood sugar is getting controlled. It feels good to feel good again!
It is my hope this new roof cleaning pump will make life better for ALL roof cleaners.

That pump they quoted for me from tri stae was just under $400. It had dual santoprene teflon diaghrams. Steve from allflo told us they do not do the dual, it's one or the other. I thought the all flo was $450? Regardless if you use the santoprene only it should cost much less than the $400. We recently installed teflon diaghrams in an allflo and they were $47each. The santoprenes were $5. I spoke to Chris about this and he said that the santoprenes crack but the teflons tear. Steve at allflo confirmed this meaning either one will fail from the mechanical use before they fail from SH exposure.

Teflon is a little more chemical resistant, at the expense of diapraghm life, and reduced flow. Santoprene is a better choice in my experience. Teflon gaskets and O Rings just plain SUCK for rebuilding as well because they take a set once torqued, and once used are history. I think the Ingersoll Rand Pumps are made by Wilden ( a good thing!) because Wilden offers the santoprene/teflon combination.

That is great news about you Chris, you must feel great! Congratulations on getting that under control, my cousin just kind of went through the same ordeal and he really looks and feels like a new man.

I also have an All-Flo,..and it did stall through the coarse of a 2-3 day period. But that was it,..I took Larrys information about WD-40 and it solved the issue.

I also removed the inline desiccant filter,..and it seemed to pump in a smoother manner. Whether that also had an effect on the stalling isn't definite,..as I did both things at the same time. But,..either way the pump has worked flawlessly since then. I do open the air inlet line and give a shot of WD-40 about once a week.

My all-flo started stalling and the problem was the metal slide that shifts from side to side was deteriorated. I installed a new air slide and problem was gone. It's still working fine 6 months later. They do require a little maintenance. You can get parts from Lori.

I love all the great information here. But sometimes it is as clear as mud! lol.

I have gone with and am still using a 'fat boy' system. Should I be looking into the Air driven pumps or Chris's new mystery pump? What would the advantage be?
