"The first Delux University, SoftWash & Roof Cleaning Class is set to be 4th - 8th which will be a 300 plus page curiculim"
I might be interested in this RCia event.
I have 2 questions ? How much will this course cost ? and if I take this class do I become Rcia certfied ?
thanks
I have 2 questions ? How much will this course cost ? You will have to contact Deluxe. The training is theirs Not RCIA's and they will dictate the cost to train with them. and if I take this class do I become Rcia certified ? The Certification committee is working hard on making this happen.
Deluxe will NOT be the only place to get training to be RCIA Certified. The committee is working diligently to get everything
to do with the Certification done in a timely manner.
Thank You All for your understanding and patience.

Hi I was certified by the first certification process.
Will those of us who have already recieved our certification through the 1st process, be grandfathered in, which is a common practice most places? My county requires painting contractors to drive to Orlando,Fl and buy books and take an extensive test-however, those of us who were already licensed painters when that new process began, were automatically grandfathered in.
Will there be a vote held here for members to decide what all seems reasonable to be included in this 2nd certification process?
Will there be a requirement to travel somewhere and take seminars and tests and lose work time?
Just wondering.
Also, if there is to be input from members considered, I hope it's to be given a "sticky" and that we are given at least a couple of weeks to vote and or give our thoughts on what all should be required.
Thanks, Chuck

I too have been interested in how to get my certification. Not so much to brag or have the title under my name, but to assure myself and my customers that I have done the right thing and taken the proper steps. What are those steps? Don

If you had read this thread you would know.

Dave, There are currently no new certifications being done, period. They put together a committee who is working on it now. It was a pleasure speaking with you.

First off, I don't know where you are getting your info, but it is way off base. Whoever told you that a $500--$1500. fee will be charged for certification is smoking something that is illeagle. There has been discussion on a certification fee, but it is nothing like you are stating.
The statement about "the ones that got in free are going to raise the standard" is also incorrect. Once the new certification standard is in place, EVERYONE will be required to take the tests to receive or maintain their certification status. Yearly re-newals will be required, along with a certain number of continous education credits that will be earned by participation in various educational and safety topics online.
There is a lot more work to be done on this, but we are progressing well. When it is complete it will be the standard for the industry and you will be proud to be certified and a member of RCIA.
Try to hold the false rumors to a minimum and wait for the truth. Gary
Called today... school is 2000-2500 dollars and after paying and completing school
more than likely you will receive rcia certification.
care to comment ? Gary

As I have stated earlier, I don't know where you are getting your info. Did you get that quote from RCIA??? We both know you didn't, so why are you here spreading false rumors again? If you have questions about certification thru another vendor, please call them and express your feelings. At present you will not be certified by RCIA, or anybody else for that matter, due to the fact that the principles and procedures are not yet finalized. When that happens, you will have a choice as to where you can receive certification, and if you so choose to spend the kind of money you quoted, that is your decision. RCIA will have no say as to what others will charge, onjly what RCIA will charge them for usuing our program. Hopefully you can now understand and will wait patiently for the true and correct facts. Gary
It was great to talk with you on the phone and answer your questions and clear the unknown.
Everyone: Please READ this thread thoroughly...... I have stated above, that DELUXE is NOT the only training for certification. Deluxe is charging you for THEIR training and education, and you will take an RCIA test to be RCIA certified. You are paying them for their training, Not for an RCIA certification. The RCIA is currently working on our own training and there will be vendors and individual certified trainers across the country that you can STUDY their curriculum. These vendors and individuals will charge what ever they see fit for you to buy their TRAINING, NOT an RCIA certification. Please do not confuse these two.
The Certification Committee is working diligently on the final
certification process, The committee would appreciate everyones
patience with the process. We have a deadline of the end of March.
When a draft is complete, you will know exactly what it contains.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. The certification committee is here to serve the
MEMBERSHIP. We have the memberships best interest in this process.
Please bare with us till we have it complete.
Please lets all work together on this, and not jump on one another.
Thank You
Chris

Thanks David. I expect that the leadership would know that attempting to get contractors to pay 2500 for a cert only, would be impossible, especially because there's so much free info online.
Now a several day class with hands on training and teaching definately has value. If a "certification" comes along with it, great.
More false info!! What post are you referring to that I am accused of retrieving?? Sorry to pop your bubble, but I no longer have that type of authority over this board. All BOD members gave up our moderator powers about 6 weeks ago.
I really don't understand what you are trying to prove by these posts you are making. You are so worried about certification, that you have forgotten that certification will only be available to Premium members, NOT guests.
If RCIA's certification is not available in 30 days, NO one will be offering certification since they are all planning on using our program.
I am done with this topic and will forward the TRUTH when it becomes available. Please do not make anymore false claims about something I have NOT done. Gary
I talked with Dave on the phone. We cleared things up.
Gary you and I both started to reply to Davids post as he was editing it. I believe he thought his deleted post was dug up and reposted, but all three of us were doing our thing at the same time. This gave Dave the perception that it was dug up. Peoples perception is their reality.
Thank you for the phone conversation Dave, and Please feel free to call me ANY time you have questions or want something clarified.

I have a question ...the approval for one company to certify roof cleaners is now posted ....that means a program has been passed for certification......Lets see it.
Its not reasonable to say your still working on. Its done....... time to show the membership.
if the certification allows for other ways great ....If their is only one way and it cost is 2500 dollars tells us quit dancing around ...
at $2500 dollars how much goes to the Rcia board and How much goes to Chris T as far as I'm concerned he should get every dime collected. He is the godfather of Roof cleaning He started this board ....He has helped everyone and continues doing so.
One last before this firestorm comes at me.........look at what the name of the company is thats putting this on... It a private company that was approved ....the only one as of today
edit : I have nothing against ac or his company he seems nice I have no axe to grind with him ....My only problem is doesnt look fair......

Gotta agree with David. Nothing has been told to the premium members and already a company has set a date for Certification? Really?!! Either a leash needs to be put on the Vendor or something stinks. JMHO
