Guys it's ok if people don't want to join until we have the cert in place. I can understand that. Pat, the cert we will offer in the future will be much better than the one we had. It will take a little time to organize it, but we have a committee working on the cert liability and quality level as we speak.

I don't know what I am talking about? Fair enough pat, I stand corrected. So you have been cleaning roofs for some time, and this site has helped you save money and I am sure has helped you in other ways and will continue to do so. That being said....after just that....you have the nerve not to send the member dues in? You want to worry about certification then maybe send money in? I think that shows the type of guy you are....and I mean that in a good way...............

Please put yourself in my position I have been told that any questions I may have will be answered in the spring I live and work in Maryland where I will not be cleaning very many houses between now and then so I just felt that it made sense for me to wait and let you guys figure out what you are doing first and then I will love to join. You do not know what type of guy I am so you are wrong again we both have our own opinions about each other but lets calm down this should be between us not the world.

PM's or telephone calls would be an excellent way to finish this.

I kinda agree with Pat on this one. Well sort of...

I've gained tons of information and knowledge from this forum and it's helped me move my business in the right direction and made it more profitable. From that standpoint the membership fee is nominal and shouldn't even be an issue. (No i have not joined...but I will after Christmas)

On the flip side... I have been doing a lot of work educating myself and getting myself spun up into No Pressure Roof Cleaning. When I first joined there were NO Maryland certified companies. There was a 100 post rule before you could take a phone test to become certified. The only reason I never did that is that I hadn't had 100 posts worth of feedback or dialog to contribute. Now (just when I need it most) cert. has been suspended and we will need to wait till spring(ish) time to learn of the new procedures. It's a little frustrating.

I can't wait for the new system to come into play, I can tell you that I think this is all moving in the right direction. I'm just not sure that certs. should have been suspended... Kills my marketing potential for the spring if I have to wait to become certified. Can't get new cards, letterhead, marketing brochures or anything without having to toss them out later when I do get certified. Also can't market to the commercial clients that I need to in a timely manner to have larger projects start in March/April.

All that said... Pay up.
All that said... you've stranded part of you base that wants/needs this.

??? Can I go take a course with one of these instructors to gain my cert. now?

I'll travel to the PSL/Stuart Area in FL, Spring/Houston area in TX or I live in Bowie, so I can meet with any of the instructors in and around Baltimore/NOVA/DC area.

PM me if that's and option. I would like to be able to submit this bid with cert in place. Even if I have to retest when the new procedures come out.

Mitch,

I would also love to be certified. But nobody says you need to be certified to clean roofs. I didn't have one customer ask if I was certified. 95% of my customers never heard of RCIA. RCIA taught me how to clean roofs correctly. Everytime I log onto the members section, I pick up something new that will help my business. Pay the $100 and it will change your life.

Mitch, you've gained tons of knowledge here and the RCIA has pointed your business in the right direction and even made it more profitable you say;  then you come here and complain about certs.  $100.00 has got to be the best bargain you could do for your business.  I realize timing isn't the greatest.  Getting certified is one of my concerns as well.  I have faith that they will have it in place for everyone well before the spring rush.
