Chesapeake Hydro-Wash recently donated a partial roof cleaning to the Church of the Nazarene in Easton, MD. I have been wanting to clean this roof for a couple years, and recently recieved a call from a church member in requards to the church roof cleaning. As soon as I arrived for the estimate, I decided to make this a donation. The pastor told me I could put up signage and advertise the cleaning anyway I wanted. The church is on a very busy street so I decided to clean half the roof one week and the remaining, the following week. I put up a banner and a job sign as well. Unfortunately the local code enforcement decided to take my signage after just 2 days. Either way the roof turned out great and the members of the church appreciated the improvement.
Nice work Chris. I am new and really need the paying jobs to help build up equity, but doing some charity work is probably worth just as much as cash expecially in a high traffic area.
This is a great thing for new guys to do. I have a couple roofs in a high traffic areas I am considering doing pro bono. What a better billboard!!!
Thanks for the compliments guys. Just as most customers, the church member that contacted me couldn't believe the difference. It turns out, he is the owner of a rather large roofing company. He was using this roof as a test. He figured if this light grey roof would come clean, then so would any other one that he came across. As many roofers, he gets calls all the time where the customer thinks they need a new roof. Most of the time the shingles are still in decent shape, but covered in the "Black Streaks". Now he knows Chesapeake Hydro-Wash can remove these "Black Streaks" and make his customer's roof look new again. Well, he's got me 2 customers already and says more will follow.
Give a lil something back when you can, and you will be rewarded for your actions.
