So far I am using it on air.  I am in the process of wiring up the 12 volt Fat Boy but growing my business got in the way and I had to put it on the back burner for now.

Marcus, take a look at the assembly.  The ball is in the cage and barely visible.  It sits on the end with the spring pushing it against the end of the assembly.

Great question!

Like I said the ball would have to be in part  # 7.

Thanks for the clarification.  I always wondered why it did not have a ball.

I mentioned that I use a Suttner ST-2700 SS Spray Gun last September.  Several people doubted taht it would last.  I first started using it last June because I have used one for over 10 years in power washing of homes with no problem.  True SH is diluted 80% in power washing so I can understand peoples doubt that it would last in roof cleaning.  Well, it is lasting so far.  Now it is February and it has not had a problem in 8 months.  Details about this gun are listed earlier in this thread, but I highly reccomend it.  It used to cost me $125, but I bought my last one from Sunbright for only $65.

Thanks for the update Marcus. People will choose what they want,..but good information and follow-up is important in those decisions. Although I do prefer the ball valve assembly,.. if I were to choose a trigger type,.these are what I'd probably use.

Ball valves cost less, but they use more chemical and require 2 hands to opoerate.  The trigger gun allows for short bursts of spray, which are nice for touchups. The amount of chemical that comes out depends on how far the trigger is squeezed.

We USED to use guns from Spraying Systems, until they leaked all over, and we kept spending 55 dollars for a new gun. My son (our main roof cleaner) likes a gun too, I just hate paying for new ones. I will look at this gun.

Hey Marcus,..I prefer ball valves over triggers because I don't like to hold the trigger,..I like to just crack open the valve and let er' spray.

It's all in what someone prefers,..has nothing to do with cost.

I bought a gun last summer.  So far it works ok.  An occasional drip.  Would it make sense to put a ball valve before the gun for when you're on the ground, then open it up when on the roof where an occasional drip won't hurt anything?  Or do the guns leak bad as they age?

Tom,

I use a ball valve before my gun when down streaming, and it works

well to help with the leaking gun.

A ball valve would be a good idea if you have a gun that drips.  So far I have not had that problem with this SS gun.  This is the only gun that I know of that can stand up to SH.

A 12 volt?????   There are many 12 volt pumps.  The one I use it with is the Delavan Fat Boy.
