Hi James,

I prefer gloves with a long gauntlet like these from Lowes.  They're very easy to put on and take off too, which I tend to do a lot while on the job,
at least during the heat of summer.

Plus I keep a box of disposable nitrile gloves  with me as well.

I see you're in the Northern Neck - beautiful place!

Im not being silly here, but I don't usually where gloves untill it gets cold, but I thought I would maybe start wearing some heavy gloves just in case I were to slip and fall I could possibly grap a gutter on the way down with out cutting my hand to shreads?

now i know you should use ropes and harness, ladders and roof hooks and so on, but ?????

We use the Nitrile Chemical Resistant Gloves.  They are a great price, resistant to the SH, light weight,  hold up wel and disposable.  I beleive our last box of 100 from Harbor Freight cost just under $10.   You can get these gloves many places, but this was a great price!

You can order on line:

Just Cut and Paste:

James - if you need some help with all of those dirty roofs down there in one of the purdiest parts of VA, just give 'ol Ted a call.  Especially if the stripers are running  biggrin Teasing aside, best of luck to you.

Clyde - you must be one tough Jersey hombre'.  SH doesn't eat you up after a while?

I use the long chem resistant gloves, Until they get soaked from sweat.
I have found that if I check for leaks on the wand, and tighten things up, I dont need gloves. And when its 160 degrees and 240 percent humidity like its been this summer, not wearing gloves helps a lot.

Wow!?  Twin 350s for a 24 footer?!  We can tag team a roof or two, then use my bass boat as the dingy for your motor yacht. LOL  We'll NEED to clean a roof or two just to have gas money for that water rocket of yours  biggrin Here's a pic of my ugly mug in my lil boat off of Bahia Honda earlier this year.  The Spanish were a hoot on ultra light bass tackle. Sadly the deep freeze had put a major hurtin' on many species.

I'd be honored to help out in any way I can.   My cell number is below and it's always on James.

We use to use the medical gloves, but they always seemed to rip.  We switched to the heavier latex dish washing gloves.  They last for many jobs, and aren't bulky like the heavier chemical gloves.

i found a pair of nitrile gloves with a breathable back that are velcro around the wrist and they seem to be what i want. they are similar to the "mechanix" type glove and seem real comfortable. i'll just have to see how long they last. thanks for everyone's input.

it is good to have a longer glove, in case you have a leak and LOVE starts to drip down your forearm and into your armpit. Been there, hate that.

It will burn the heck out of your skin. Trust me on this one.

didn't really think about that, might take these back and just go with bulkier and more protective over comfort and convenience. thanks

I'll got with Brad.  Longer glove helps, but can get annoying at times if not a snug fit.   My opinion is the atlas gloves. They are textured natural rubber coating. Abrasion resistance, and grip for slippery materials, and no liquid penetration.
