He is my Cousin ! I taught him to clean roofs. He lived 180 miles away at the time.

I got really slammed with work some years ago, and he was not doing well cleaning roofs where he lived. I asked him to come up here and help me. His girlfriends parents lived in the next county, and so he moved up here, and started using my name, against my wishes. He even grabbed my url, and will not give it back! Yes, I could sue him, spend thousands of dollars to get nothing back in return. And I am SURE he steals work by having my URL. People THINK they are dealing with me! He is a great roof cleaner actually Mike. He does really good work, just like I taught him to. What am I  to do ? I can't kill my cousin. My Son beat the chit out of him once, but he will not stop using our name.

If he was not my Cousin, he would be found floating in Tampa Bay.

We USED to service Naples, and I thought it would be OK to have an Apple Roof Cleaning Naples down there. I never DREAMED he would pull this chit!
He knows exactly what he is doing, sucking off OUR good name! If he did chit work, I would stop him, but he doesn't. I taught him, and he learned well. Customers are not being compromised, just we are getting ripped off.

Roof Cleaning Franchises ?

For as long as we have had a web site, I have got people asking me if I sold, or have any plans to sell Apple Roof Cleaning Franchises.
Recently, I was approached by a company that helps you put together Roof Cleaning Franchises.
They told me I would be an ideal candidate for them to put a Roof Cleaning Franchise together for.
At first, the idea seemed stupid to me, since you can get a lot of free roof cleaning info off this roof cleaning forum.
And the price they are talking about selling the Roof Cleaning Franchise for was pretty high.
But that could easily be made back and more, the first year.
I am really thinking about offering turn key roof cleaning franchises, complete with hands on, personal training, and unlimited life time free consultations.
Any why not ? I see so much bullChit being sold as roof cleaning business opportunities. I would like to do it myself, and not with any company that put franchises together, I just don't know how. I mean the legalities, that kind of stuff.

Franchises are like being married to a cheatin pit bull. Too many regs, too much govt. too many reports. We tried it in 1998 and 1999 it was a bust.

Be careful of the word "FRANCHISE" there are so many regulations with franchising.

Dealerships are the way to go and you eliminate ALL the government regulations.

Basically you are selling goodwill and knowledge, but it also offers you the power to pull the company name if they do not follow the gidelines set forth.


I have set up Authorized Dealers and have made decent $$$ doing so.
