I just completed the build on my roof cleaning trailer. It took alot of time and more $ that expected, but I built it the way I felt it should be done. The pictures show the 250 gal. tank mounted and also show it removed with two 55 gal. tanks. I did not have the money for hose reels right know so I mounted them as seen. I am using a Fat Boy pump powered by a marine battery, wired to be charged at the box with an on/off switch at the pump. I used 1" hose to the pump, and can pull from a fresh water tank and a solution tank. Is there something I need or dont need... Please give me your input.
With those tanks, just make sure the axle and tires can handle it. Don't want a bent axle or to go through tires every 6 months. And as I'm sure you are aware already, check the tongue weight to make sure its between 10-15%.
Your solution of SH will be approx. 9 pounds per gallon. Your water is 8 pounds per gallon.
I won't run an axle under 2500 pound rated even on a small rig.

Yes having reels would be alot easier than dealing with what you have, but trust me I understand the no money part......I might end up with some HD garden hose reel......
Well I would wire your battery to your tail light hook up (get a 6 way) to charge it while you are out running from job to job , also how close is the pump to the battery, the pump look like its a good ways from the battery , fat boys like everything big and the battery needs to be placed by the pump... Mike Sullivan I think explains this in another thread, could cause wires to heat up and will loose amperage blow fuses... nice little trailer great build my friend

I got the trailer built with a 3,500 lb axil. The large tank cage sits slightly to the rear which helps to displace the toung weight. Ordered the trailer with 15" tires....Thanks for your response, I appreciate the input.

The SH is 10lbs per gallon, not 9 very important. Every one of those exposed bolts needs a coating of teflon nevercease and silicone. It will only take about 2 months for them to rust solid. I really like the barrel holders you added. A rubber mat would save the deck, the thin nylon straps will last about one season. For what you built, I would say you can use and abuse that rig for 2 seasons cleaning daily. After that it will be very rusty and the wood will be shot. This is a good!! If you are cleaning daily you will make plenty of money and have plenty of concept for your next one.
I thought I read somewhere it was 9.42 pounds per gallon but now I can't find that article.
Can you remember where you got the 10 per gallon?
This time I'll write it down, lol

I have to give credit to my brother in law for the welding, he is an Engineer with a complete metal fabrication shop. I paid $900 for the trailer. Trailer had pressure treated flooring, I had them increase the axle weight from 2,200 lbs. to 3,500 lbs, incresed the tire size to 15' and also got a spare tire (welded spare tire mount to bottom of trailer just behind tongue area). Bought pump, keri tech hose (200' 3/4"), conectors, nozzels, wand, mis. hoses, filters, cam-lock etc. from PWP. Got 250 gal. tank with cage from Brother in laws contcts at no charge, paid on av. $10 for 55 gal. tanks off craigs list. Tool box was dented got it half price at $75. Misc. steel, nuts & bolts, deck screws cost about $200. Marine battery 875 cranking amps from Wal-Mart $95. I would say total out of pocket I spent about $2,500. The additional costs were the time spent in travel, phone time getting the correct items and last but not least the fabrication time of 40+ hours ( haven't recieved brother-in-law's bill yet...LOL).
When you buy your SH it will say what it weighs if they deliver it, and it will be on the Hazard sheets. Keep an eye on those Metal hooks holding your hose, they may cause vibration damage quickly. If they do just roll it up and throw it in the back of the truck. We do not use the hose reels on Chemical Transfer equipment, we use the helpers to roll it up and toss it in the beds of the trucks.
