Keep that baby light!! Also I would add a rubber mat if you got the $50 it will help save the deck. Glue it down with as much silicone as you can and bolt it with carriage bolts and big washers. That wood deck will be shot in your first year. Mine was too.

Bill, If I use old motor oil as a sealer on that wood would that buy some time?

I used Thompsons on my 16' and the wood was gone in 2 years, I replaced it with pressure treated and brushed used motor on it, every few months and it seems to work great, plus its free!!!biggrin

If not, I might head to Sam's club and see what mats they have for sale.

Thanks for the tips!!!

I have heard of using motor oil before. The dealer I bought my trailer from mentioned it to me. Of course, he has no idea how harsh SH is. If you do it, let us know if it works.

+1  I know a few guys who have used the rubber mat and it has worked out great. One is on his 4th yr and the flooring and undercarrage still look great.

You got that right bro, unfortunettly you will see that minor splashes will happen, especially if you have a full vented transfer tank.  Just a little bit will run down the side and it eats pine boards like they are butter.

During the winter months while all you YANKEES are freezing, you can pull you trailer inside, let it thaw out and rebuild the deck!!

Dont forget to winterize those pumps lol!!!

Just kidding!
