Dan, Roof looks like it turned out good. I still don't understand why you put yourself in danger everyday walking those roofs. You are standing right on the ridge cap which is a no no. Those shingles can crack and start leaking. We would of shot that whole roof from a 14 foot A frame ladder and been done with it in probably less than 2 hours. To each their own. I hope we don't read about you falling off a roof. Your price seems about right.
I am staying at .15 cents to .25 cents per square ft, seems to be working good. depends on the height, how bad stain is, if there is moss, etc. most have thought it was a decent price.

Someday he will wake up and get it,...just hope it's not to late for his familys sake.
But aside from that,...Dan,...put a stabilizer/standoff on your ladder to protect the customers' property,...you will leave scratches on the gutter edges.
See that's what I'm talking about. You guys that have been doing this for awhile say to stay off the roofs. Only makes sense. I'm a general contractor embarking on roof cleaning with my guys and all but me want to get on the roofs. I'm just trying to get the apple cider mix right so I can stay off the roofs.
I'm printing this out to show all my guys, Thanks..
Good job. I dont even think that roof is that steep that it shouldnt be walked, but we would definately have a harness on and be tied off.
Guys, just like everything else, you can only tell peole stuff so many times. Theres no need to turn every thread that has something we dont like it it into a bitch fest. With that being said, I agree it should be shot from a ladder or at least wear a harness.

Do you guys make your customers aware that if you go up on their two story roof and fall,...they can be sued heavily? Even if you have health insurance,... your insurance company will look at the facts of the case and you won't be covered fully,...if even at all. This is typical as to why insurance rates are so high.
This is supposed to be a professional forum,..you clowns climbing around on these two story roofs are far from that,...I don't care how long you've been in business or how good your work is.
I just cleaned a 2 plus story 10/12 pitch, maybe a bit less. did the gutters and the roof from a ladder, a big ladder, but never once got on the roof. Now don't get me wrong if the roof is easy to get on and I need to clean moss well then i do it. If the roof is to steep then I wont. I need to be able to work.

Did you ever hear of worker comp. insurance. Pofessional contractors carry it to protect there men in case of injury on the job. It also protects the homeowner from being sued. Its also elegal to use your personal health Ins. for a work related injury as you must be doing or are going to do if you get heart. Not for nothing but you just proved with your post that your not the professional you say you are. Get comp it pays for its self. Protect your men and your family if you should get injured.
