Compressors / re-labeling and such

I thought I would point out a few things about compressors that some might find interesting, and others may be aware of.  In this day and age of Re-Labeling, it is sometimes hard to know what was built where, who is lying about the numbers and what  engine shipped in from china then painted red and sold on ebay (sorry Chris). So any info can be helpful.

I tend to buy USA whenever possible.. it often costs more, but thats okay, I am putting off the inevitable when it seems most  Americans may choose themselves over country...

So in my search I decided to look closely at Eaton brand compressors... Ohio for 31 years, yada yada yada...Honda motors that start....good stuff....  They had a nice 10 gallon portable...

Then I came across the HULK portable 10 gallon with a 6.5 Honda...

Then I found the low priced EMax... which every link sent me to home depot, and the bragging was present, but no good hard CFM n umbers were posted anywhere.

Funny I was down too 3 choices...  and it looked to me that the EMax had an Eaton pump, though no mention of it...then I noticed the same on the Hulk...then I came to the conclusion...
The Emax, The Hulk and The Eaton are all basically or completely  the same units ... and little info is out there about any of them.

Just wanted to point out what I noticed!  In the end, as much as i like the Green Hulk, the pricing of the Eaton itself is much better at the moment.

Emax $999  http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=202075110&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=202075110&ci_src=14110944&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googlebase-_-D25X-_-202075110&locStoreNum=1262&marketID=86

Hulk $1049   http://www.aircompressorsdirect.com/HULK-HGPS0610WL/p3794.html?source=froogle&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=shop+portals

Eaton $719 !  http://www.eatoncompressor.com/catalog/item/537473/7423951.htm

Hope this was interesting or useful... I think I have decided on a 8 hp unit with larger air tanks as my next compressor though, even tho I'm using the All-Flo 3/8

That looks like a nice compressor, and the price seems fairly reasonable. CFM ratings seem to be meaningless !!!!!!!
I have had compressors rated at 8.5 cfm spray circles around ones rated at 12.5 Cfm. All things equal, the bigger the compressor pump, the better it seems. The Rolair compressors have that huge pump, and it kicks azz.

We ended up with a big boy, 15 HP Unit with a 30 gal tank. I tend to go big or go home.. not always good or necessary.. but, if air is gonna be the way, we plan to have enough of it! I kinda like the Jenny stuff after seeing it live and in person.
