Do you guys happen to know if I can use a 3/8 in (that is the diameter of both inlet and outlet) hose barb, secured with a hose clamp? Or do I need a crimped hose end to avoid blowout of the hose clamp.
thank you very much and have a great weekend!

The suction and the feed on the pump is 1/2 in threaded. Where ya getting the 3/8 from???
I'm using a 3/4 in suction hose with a barbed end on the feed. (trust me, it needs to be fed) and a 1/2 crimped theaded fitting on the feed side. I don't see why you couldn't use a hose clamp and barbed end. Just check it from time to time to make sure it stays tight.
I have a 3/8 pump. The 1/2" dont fit. I have a 3/4 suction hose crimped to a 3/8 fitting for the feed side, but I need another 3/8 barb for my outlet hose.
Thank you.

Thank you.
I've never seen 3/8 supply and discharge side of the All-Flow. They are always 1/2in threaded. It's part of the mold of the unit. ( Scratching my head) ? ?
I am reading the owners manual on the pump I got. Under specifications it says
Fluid Inlet/Discharge 3/8" NPS Femaile (BSP or NPT compatible)
Trust me, I have no idea what I am talking about, does that mean I need a 3/8 barb fitting?
Do you have the pump in your hand? Look at the theaded ends on the pump. in/out. They are 1/2 in. You can use a male 1/2in barbed to feed 1/2in hose on the discharge side but do yourseld a favor and use a 1/2thread by 3/4 in barbed with a 3/4 in suction hose to feed the pump. Mine had a pump stalling issue in the beginning. It wasn't getting enough chems to supply the pump. Switched it to 3/4 in on the supply and have not had a problem since.
Oh Yea! Whats an owners manual??? LOL

OK!!! Maybe my dumb ass is wrong. I could have sworn the in and out line was 1/2 in but it looks like it comes standard with 3/8. My bad. Just use the 3/8 to 1/2 barbed-Feed and a 3/8 to 3/4 barbed for the supply/suction.... I guess I need to look at mine again...? Hmmm!
You had me wondering there Larry,..as mine are also 3/8" in and out. I have them clamped and no leaks. Clamps are fine,...just don't overtighten them to the point of stripping the clamps holding power. Easy to do so be careful.
I use threaded connectors and pvc, works good for over a year this way. Really whatever you want to hook up to it will work. If you use barbs and clamps and you have a suction problem one day it will probably be a minor air draw leak on the intake side. Re tighten the clamps and problem solved. This will be true with any pump.
