I'm REALLY trying to get my roof cleaning started up.I'm making money, but it seems like everytime I get it it goes right back out!Anyway,I just bought a Delavan 5850 pump the other day and I have my tank and traded for a trailer, but here's the question. What size of hose do I need to purchase for this pump? Thanks much as always
Some will say 1/2, some will say 5/8... I went with 5/8 myself, but when you have to pull 300 feet of it around a house it gets heavy. That would be my only complaint. Also, I'm not a hose expert, but I think 300ft of 5/8 is probably a little much for the Delavan and really pushes it's limits...with that being said, I never had any trouble with the pump and that shows it is plenty capable.

200' of 1/2 on the 5850 and the fatboy have never given me problems. I have had to connect another 200' a couples times and it starts having some trouble, but thats very rare.

1/2" or 5/8" will both work.
Proven fact: on a fat boy pump, bigger is better. 3/4" is what you want. I run 200' of 3/4" and my pump will shoot 45-50' all the time. Try that with your 1/2 or 5/8 and that is recommended by the roof cleaning GOD, Chris Tucker!
