So I went out and bought a $700 Ridgid Air compressor for my new All Flo Pump that is coming in tomorrow from Lori.
Do you think the damn thing started? NOPE!! Holy crap am I having a bad start of the year. I have been pulling on that f*ckin starter cord for about an hour now(yes there is gas in it).
Taking it back first thing in the morning. UNREAL, I just cant win.

I just can't buy (literally) a break. I just cant get a pump that I am happy with.
I just want something that will shoot Love on a roof. They can design something that can take a man to the moon, but I cant seem to find anything that will consistently shoot chlorine onto a 20 foot roof.
This is crazy!!!

How many times have you bought something new that had a manufacture defect. I have bought many items before that turned out to be lemons. Or maybe in the haste you overlooked something. Hopefully Rex will resolve the issue. Keep us posted. The Rigid air compressor is supposed to be one of the best.
Before pulling for an hour you should have checked for spark. If this is a Honda engine I would have pulled 3-4 times then started diagnosing. Make sure the switch is on. Also check to see if there is a low oil shut-off. If it's low on oil from the manufacturer and it has a low oil shut-off,..it won't start.
But,...it is very uncommon for any small engine to not run right out of the box,..the Honda's are especially trouble free and start very easily,...usually 1-2 pulls after sitting all Winter. Once you get this resolved, you will see that the system is very trouble free and simple.
Where as the 12V systems are problematic and always will be,...especially for those who don't have them tweaked.
This unit was the last one on the shelves at Home Depot and it had a taped box. I tried to get a discount but the manager said that it was brand new. I think it was used, and some poor guy returned it like I am going to.
I read the directions and follwed the starting sticker to a T.

when I bought mine It was the last one and it was taped too.
they said they did it for lifting purposes, since it is such a bulky package?
You are the man! With that being said, just so I am on the same page, you are saying that if I take a Lowes 10% off coupon to Home Depot they will honor it?

yes they will, I did it. A Home Depot associate suggested to me that I do it and I did.
just go to the line and at check out give it to them.
Just a suggestion leading back to Jeffs post, if it does have the low oil shut off, unplug it and try to start it. Dont run it for long if it starts, but that will at least let you know if the Low oil sensor has gone bad.
I met a guy at lowes yesterday who was returning the rigid compressor. He told me he has been through 4/returns in less than one year. The compressor part keeps seizing on him. The rigid or dewalt people buy at lowes are not the same ones you see for industrial use. Your moon comment makes me laugh. Think about it, do you think nasa buys parts at lowes or maybe they buy the higher end real deal?? Dewalt makes tools just for lowes and home depot that are lower quality than their original line. I would guess rigid does the same. I avoid these big box stores when I can. I bought my compressor used from a builder who bought it from a supplier, it is not sold at lowes or home depot.
