Leaking Tip

Sounds like a bad seal. SH is a very strong chemical,you never know where your next leak will be.

It's coming out of the end of the nozzle where your spray would come out, so would that still be a bad seal? Seems like if it was a seal it wuld come out around by the threads.

Of course it could be a bad seal in the wand/trigger. The nozzle isn't a seal in itself. The seal would be leaking and allowing a small amount of liquid through.

Any tips on preventing these seals from going bad? Should we be using a certain kind of seal?as opposed to another?

I like a PVC ball valve and no wand. Just reduce it down to accept your nozzle of choice. No real need for a wand, and the ball valves are basically leak proof forever. They do tend to tighten up over time, but they're cheap and available. But you'll get a full season out of one.

I beg to differ. No need for a wand? Try spraying 38' from gutter to ridge on a roof you can't get on, on a windy day.
I rigged a shakey 6' extension to get another 2'

Take the trigger gun apart, the srainless steel ball is pitted or the spring is gone. Mike the ball and replace with a ceramic ball as the chemical will eat the ss balls up in a short while.

Giving the benefit of the doubt, a typical roof doesn't require a wand. But being what it is, I mainly suggested the use of the ball valve.

Take a hex head bolt or an allen wrench and take the gun apart, the stainless steel ball or the spring is bad. Repace with a ceramic ball the chemical won,t eat it up. Here's another tip put a poly ball valve(schedule 60 with no springs) in front of the trigger gun nozzle side for a back up so you don't have the leak.

If your using a wand like on a pressure washer it`s sure to leak. Tried one last year that lasted one week then started leaking. I got one that was recommended by PressureTek Bob & have had no problems with it.

You are correct. I also use a PVC ball valve. Usually carry three rigged at different lengths.
