Pump wouldnt prime...

We cleaned a roof last week. About 5500 sf of shingle and my 1/2 inch yamada refused to prime on its own....

It worked well enough to make it 1/3 of the way. After that I did some fast replumbing and added a fitting to attach water hose to the end of the draw line. Every once in a while we have to pull a water hose over to reprime the draw line... But get this right at the end of the job it started to run fine. Took it home and rinsed and it primed fine.

I havent had this problem with it before and would like to figure out whats going on.

I normally care a 55er of Sh in the bed of truck and and pump from it to roof tank. I never have any trouble with this but the pump wasnt having it the other day. Thats probably a 12 foot pull. Then the roof tank is 6 feet away. All 3/4 ID hose.

I dont know. What do yall think?

This is almost always a suction problem were air is entering the draw side of the pump. Look for loose fittings in your intake that may have vibrated loose or cracked. Your hose may have deveopled a crack or leak and the o ring may be bad

I agree with Bill.  If the pump valves are still any good, you might be lucky and just have an airlock or you are slowly drawing air from a crack/leak.  Hopefully the pump doesn't need a rebuild, but that might be the worst case scenario?  How many hours do you have on it?
