Here is a pic of my firt attempt at building a mobil roof cleaning rig. pump and hose kit- $350 55gal drum free pallet free batt box $10 cheep hose reel -$25 mis--- $40
It will do, for now. I started out with a 4 by 8 lawn trailer, 100 gallon tank, and a shurflo pump with 5/8 garden hose - 2 - 100 foot pieces from dollar store! Plus, a pawn shop ladder
I knocked on doors till my knuckles bled, had no business cards, or flyers either.
Drove around on weekend mornings, looking for neighbors outside talking to each other, stopped, said "watch this", and sprayed a piece of moldy driveway.
That often led to a roof demo, and then a sale.
Once one neighbor did it, the rest were easy.
After I did one neighbor, I told the other neighbor about how the dirt on his roof is an airborne spore, and could make his neighbors roof dirty again!
I would say stuff like " You know joe next door just had his roof cleaned, and your dirty roof can make his roof dirty?"
Works everytime, now you got 2 neighbors, so you keep knocking on the other neighbors doors, and before long you will be saying "Those guys on the RCIA Forum were not BS'ing, there IS a lot of money to be made in cleaning roofs!
I personally know many who advertise not at ALL, yet make really good money.
When you are new, and not yet established, good old door knocking is a good way to get started.
Thanks Guys its been fun so far just trying to get my feet wet if you know what I mean. I help my family run a large roofing co. in Tennessee and we get tons of calls about cleaning so last year when I lived in St. Pete I seen a job apple was working on and thought hey when I move back I need to give it a try. Thank you all for any advice and pointers. I have been reading on the site with my mouth shut about a year now and it was time to start putting something together...
Inspirational... Thanks for the post. Many times we get caught up in having the prettiest rig or best looking advertising. Thank you all for the git-r-done attitude.

We have many who just sit back, and read, and it;s all good. Glad to see ya posting!
Is that a roof cleaning rig or a Still on wheels? (LOL) Just kidding, if it works and your making $$$ then it looks damn good to me. Good Luck, you can always change your setup as time goes by.

Part of me is like wow that's cool, and part of me is like, way to ignore our warnings about hose size and leaking components. Just being honest. Regardless of that I am glad to see you out there hustling and trying to get it done with whatever you can use. It takes balls and innovation to throw that thing together and rock out some roofs!! My trailer is a POS so I can't be too judgmental.
Please be careful of getting love on your skin as your stuff will leak eventually, but i bet you knew that. Good to see you posting and I look forward to watching your rig grow.

Hey Bill, What do you think about that tank not being vented? I think we should be warning this guy about this tank. I understand that everyone needs to start off somewhere but if this thing isn't vented it could turn into a bomb. Pressure building up from the reaction of the alcohol, shc and surfacant mixed together. Can you imagine unscrewing that 4" cap and having it blast you in the face. Am I missing something here. Looks dangerouse to me. Thanks
