Hey guys, this is old hat. I don't think Mitch was poking at you Mike. Mitch I think you can see how touchy this subject can be. This guy recently and many times over ubset a lot of people here. The question was asked and answered. This is an old thread and an idea that never actually was shown to work out anyway. Mike, I am glad your out of there and sorry you got strung along for so long.
Guys, Listen to AC from his popcorn marketing. Rock in a bag for the win!!! I also like hitting the pavement with people, but we just walk the neighborhoods. Walking gives us a lot more face time with people, and an ability to capitilize on the unexpected. I have found the more time spent on foot in tight neighborhoods, the more buzz you create. Flyers alone are never as effective as actually knocking on the doors. If it's just door flyers you want to put out, mailers will probably cost you less in the long run. But rather than buy a scooter and add more uneccesary overhead, use a company truck or vinyl up your car and throw the rocks in a bag on weekdays. Then knock and walk on weekends. We will be doing this rock trick very soon as well.

Hey Bill I did the rock and bag trick long time ago, but being I'm from the Jersey Shore this time I'm going to use Jersey Shore Sand, it will work better, when the car runs over it, it wont poke a hole in my bag, and if someone steps on it they wont sprang their ankle, If the lawn mover runs over it bla bla, and the kids wont take the rocks and throw them at cars or choke on them.
I love it Clyde!! You guys definitely have enough sand. In fact I think your sand idea might be a great change to the concept. It might make the flier to sandy?? Well let's test it out and see what we get!! One thing I always noticed in south Jersey is a lot of yards covered in stone. I used to swim in the failed quarries down there and wondered why they kept trying to dig in the sand and fail so many times. I must have swam in over 20 quarries around Rio Grande and Wildwood.

AC gave a great talk on popcorn marketing at the Tampa Expo.
One of the ideas was to put your flyer and a small rock in a plastic bag then drive around the neighborhood and throw the bag in the driveway. The rock adds weight so you can throw the bag.

It really stinks that we gotta go through all this work just to get work! do you know how much work that is to buy plastic bags insert flyer, insert rock, pack them up, then go weave in and out of parked cars parked on the street and throw rocks out of window. lol. The next day you get complaints because someone twisted their ankle on your calling card which you left behind while they went to paper box early in the morning to grab their paper.
wow that was really weird I called 1 800 735-3950 or www.GTBAG.com and ordered 10.000 bags and he asked what was I going to use them for and I told him I was a certified member of RCIA and that I'm going to stuff flyers and rocks so I could throw them out the window, and he got all happy and said you are the 11th person from RCIA in the last 48 hours to place an order for this kinda thing.
Ok now I gotta go to the rock store to buy rocks.

I have a whole state of sand. I guess I should give this a try, can't make money if I dont try lol!
Hey Dwayne, why not just load your plane up with about 3-4000 bags and fly over several neighborhoods. Get done a lot quicker and Maybe some free advertising compliments of the FAA. lol
