I'm about ready to setup a new trailer with my gear. Are there any do's and don'ts that you guys can think of when first setting up a trailer? I'm starting from scratch with a 6 x 12, a 225 tank and I thought about a smaller tank also about 100. 2 reels, pump and battery, ladders, and toolbox.
Sounds like a good setup. May want to go ahead and pack an extra pump for those OH CRAP moments! Other than that, you may want to throw in a 15 gallon upright for easy rinsing when you're done, and a few backup clamps, QC's, and guns, especially if you're using the poly gun. Oh, and a ball valve for sure.
I have been starting to collect a few extra accessories to keep in the toolbox. 1 gun and 2 ball valve type guns, clamps. i'll purchase another pump when some more funds find my pocket.

Always keep a take off list of all small parts and if you have computer skills and know Exel, make a template so you can keep track of all o-rings, QC's, Ball valves, nozzles, worm gear hose clamps, Band-it clamps, and ALL the other reusables / Consumables so when you are running low on stock, then, if you update your template weekly or so, you can re-order before you need it and BEFORE it costs you a job because it's not on hand.
Keep/Make an Outlook file on all suppliers phone neumbers. Make the list so you can easily find everything and everyone quickly, when in a pinch.
Hose reels made in aluminum with ss manifold are better then painted Steel reels w/ steel manifolds.
Finally, get a sheet of garage flooring overlayment see link on this forum and put down before bolting tanks and reels and motor/pumps. When the spilss occur, and they will, be ready and protect your trailer and axles and metal from corrosion.
SH is highly corrosive to painted steel or raw and will eat 1/4" away in less than one year, sometimes months.
