Can you view pictures and tell me if this can be cleaned. Never did a cedar shake cleaning.

CLICK TO SEE ROOF INSPECTION PICTURES

The homeowner wants to know if I can clean this or if it needs repaired/replaced.

No idea what the mix/process should be?

I provide a roof inspection prior to quoting the customer. If the roof needs to be replaced I advised customer and thank them for the opportunity. Good business practice.

Hi. DAS

We do that also except we replace roofs too, so we give an estimate for roof replacement.

Can you look at pics and see if those shakes can be cleaned. Click on link in my first post.

Yws those can be cleaned. And they will look good if done right. If you have never did cedar, it may be more than you want on the first job. Plan on 3-4 more days than you thought. You can search for the right mix. Some use the same mix they clean roofs with, others use a 3 step process, and others have come up with their own mix. No matter what you do, you will be rinsing a ton.

Thanks for the info. Yeah...I'm going to pass on this job.
I don't feel comfortable testing the process on a 1/2 a million dollar house.
Not for my first cedar shake cleaning anyhow.

You should pass the lead to someone in the RCIA.

Viewing the photos I concur. The roof can be restored but if you are not experienced in cedar shake I recommend passing it on.
