Hey Mike, my little All-Flo requires about 9 cfm to push 90 PSI I think. I have a gas compressor that runs at like 11 cfm @90 PSI. These air pumps will work at a lower cfm,..but,..the performance suffers.

Lets not forget pressure washing equipment. You will need either a trailer or a very large truck to outfit pressure washing equipment along with an air pump. And if you argue that you only clean roofs you're leaving a lot of money on the table. Can you honestly say that you'd be willing to drive a beast of a truck all day every day within a 100 mile radius? For myself the question is what will make me more money with less headaches and fit my business model. Air is supremely better as far as mechanics. I actually hate 12v pumps. But I believe I make more money with 12v.

Now I'm not so pumped. This is so true.

12 volts. Find the one thats right for you.

 Took me a lil bit.

Let's see how much real estate left, main thing the supply tank on the new trailer build. Building everything round that. I'm really happy with 12 volt system now. It's really too eashy. Same thing I got now just bigger.

As far as charging the batteries for the 12 volt pumps, i just tied it in with the power washer battery and everytime i run the machine it charges the batteries so i have no worries there. I have not charged the batteries since i put them in my trailer in april ( with a battery charger).

Now its time to install a microwave and a mini fridge in the enclosed. It will reduce full lunch breaks and stops at the convienant store.

Ya, i am just gonna run power to the back of the truck over the winter.  Next spring I will be able to drive and charge.   Isn't remembering to charge batterys, like remembering to have gas in the gas can?

Most roof cleaners I know like Italian Sausage Sandwiches on a Hoagie Roll for Lunch. Here in Florida, the Sun "keeps them warm" biggrin

Have a GREAT thanksgiving and go play with your "little hose". smileconfuse

Gary, who are these people that told you?  I want names and addresses. A Fatboy @ 7gpm may be the exception for 3/4".  I would say not with 5gpms or less.  Its a double edged sword when it comes to 3/4" hose.  Most small pumps can handle 3/8" hose, but not for roof cleaning.  Do you really know whats going on with your pump when your 2 stories up on a roof?  Most have know idea how much cycling is going on.

 Ed;

Due to privacy concerns, I can't give you their address or phone number, but I will share their names. It actually was a set of twin sisters named Hedda and Fonda Peters. Have you ever heard of them??? confuseconfusebiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin They also have an older sister named afeelya Peters. nononono

All-flow has been great pump for us, squirt a little WD-40 about every 60 days, clean out the exhaust filter with brake fluid and it shoots 35-40 ft with a zero. We rinse with water every night and it is a workhorse. On my second fatboy for transfer, ours lasts about a year, we never rinse the Fatboy. Fatboy is a good pump.

We like to spray off air, but you can make money with a fatboy.

Key start AC is big help.

Noise is downside with an AC

Yea Mike, I actually do the WD-40 thing about very two weeks. Just for the sake of it I guess. But, they will stall if this maintenance step is neglected. I've never cleaned the exhaust filter though, but I think I will now,..when air is taken in,..it has to be expelled as well,...and a plugged exhaust could hamper performance I suppose.

You used the words "used to". Why did you go back?  Where do you spray the WD40?

12 volt systems cost less to run per yr and are an easy fix if it goes down

this time of year it's irrelevant but the 12v is nice when starting a roof at 8am on a weekend and you don't have to worry about waking up the whole neighborhood ... space is a big concern so at the moment an air system is out of the question

supposed to soft wash a home today and do a roof but the wind put me out of commission ... getting cold quick, i'm sensing an abrupt ending to the season in the near future ... heading to banana republic to get all white collared up for the new business (actually looking forward to the change of pace, lol)

I do the same now. Mine plugged up on me one day about 3 yrs ago and stalled my pump. I took it off and haven't seen it since. Runs better without it.
