We did fine, minus electric. But im just twisted over these boardwalks. We had some good ones. Theyre all gone. Completely wiped out. Thanks for checking up Ray.
thanks for looking out Ray, I went to my parent's house in Freehold, NJ (15-20 minutes from the beach) just to be there in case anything bad happened ... it's gonna be a few days before they get electric back but all is good. the wind was incredible, i don't know how you Florida boys handle it, like a freight train and was a lot less then what you guys experience
I am glad to hear that everyone is ok so far! Good luck with getting the electricity back soon. Every year I tell myself I need to by a stand by electric unit. After hurricane Ike we were with out electricity for 2 weeks. At least I have an electric generator to run the refrigerators & freezers off of...
When Kate hit in 85 we were without power forever two weeks. In the mid 90s we had a beach house on the northern gulf and seemed like we did the hurricane board-up and repair about 6 times. I also owned several "flipper" houses in Orlando in 2005 when Charlie ( I think) came up through the middle of the state...that one cost me tens of thousands in repairs.
So I know the aggravation and pain storms like this can bring. My heart goes out to everyone. Really glad to hear you guys are safe. Anybody hear from mike @ gutter dogs, bill booze, or micheal Derose?

Everything is fine here too. We never lost power and there are no downed trees in my area. I think its because the way the eye came in that we didn't get the massive winds like north jersey and new York did. I do know sea side heights and ocean city got it pretty bad. Atlantic city had the oldest part of its boardwalk ripped away.
hopefuly those guys will check in soon. Maybe there internet is out as well as there power.
Lets hope that is their only problem.
I hear ya Brother Marcus! I wonder, is The Gutterdog still barking ? Kinda worried about him, and some others. I also heard an unconfirmed rumor that the Pristine Box Truck was seen floating, listing badly on it's side ?
Pristine is good. Been parked at jims pub for a week now. Guys i grew up in and around the jersey shore. My family has a bungalow in Mantoloking, which is less than 1/2 mi from bay to ocean. The whole town is on fire as I write this and mostly natural gas fires from broken lines. I have the same gut wrenching feeling as 9/11. Everyone who's ever visited the Jersey Shore has a fond memory. It's all wiped out now. Where's Springstein when you need him most? Maybe it's Gods way of getting rid of Snooki and the crew.
