#12 othy our 50 pt standard points mentions 800 psi. It doesn't say no pressure. Have you changed that? Anyhow, typing on phone, but 1st spray-"apple sauce" same ingredients but not as strong. Spray 2.. Another chemical you guys know about that loosens the black algae but doesn't phase the lichen. Then a rinse (spider).....just a name we made... Then final spray is a protectant. Answer rest later, typing on phone sucks!

OK we'll let you slide on the pics. Our lives are empty and meaningless so we have nothing better to do than investigate people to make sure there's no shaninigans.

Just kidding of course, about our lives being empty AND meaningless. They're just empty.

How many nozzles are on your spider?

What are the specs of the machine that operates the spider?

What size are the nozzles?

Fill us in on the protectorant...do tell.

That spider thing is a serious joke,...if the proper product is used,..(Mix and Strength),...this thing wouldn't be needed. Man,..way too much work,....not to mention the danger of even being up there that way. It doesn't matter if that contraption is damaging or not,..the point is it's not needed if the proper mix is used. I think guys who use this type method are trying to save money on chemical and replacing it with "free" water blasting,...and some use it to promote green cleaning.

P.S. I never even read the 50 point standard thing, simply because I knew I wasn't going to fully comply,..but I still know how to clean a roof properly.

I don't like traveling lol.

Well, I will do one thing for everyone that has helped me out.  Actually anyone.

Because I am still a little paranoid that one of my competitors may

read these posts I am not typing it on here.

It solves a common roof leak and also prevents one.

Riddle...

Maybe you already do this in your area, but I never heard of it in my area....so

What costs under 10 dollars, but can eliminate one of the most common roof leaks.

You could warranty it for 10yrs / No leak, or more.  It's so simple that you will laugh,

but in my area I was the only one that started doing it, and figured it out by accident

when I didn't have anything in my truck to fix what I found.  No matter how old the shingle

is, it doesn't matter?  And .....no...it's not caulking.  On a brand new roof this often starts leaking

around 10 yrs.  99% use caulking or replace the whole area.  Every one of you will be doing this if

you aren't already. 100% Promise you that.

For the answer.....visit my website and send me "What is it?" from the "contact us" page.

Why?  Because it helps my google rank everytime someone visits my site. Hey, there has to be

something in it for me too? lol

Thanks for the welcome and comments -
I will share, but one important question is are you guys positive the posts
don't show up in google search. I would hate for competition or homeowners to read
all the posts. lol. For now I will assume they don't.

4 spray tips
3/8 hose- a lot of hose to reach all areas of the roof
Around 800 at the pump and 60 at the machine.
Sometimes much less because we use chemicals like I said.

First spray (I say Kills It) - I used the apple sauce mixture, but with easily
found hypochlorite - Household basically.

Second Spray (I say loosens up the grime) - Starts with a M and has a number in it. (I'm writing in code) wink.
You know exactly what I am saying though. lol

Third Spray (I call the spider/rinses the grime basically, We could use just a hose I imagine but I have my reasons)

Fourth Spray - Protectant / extended release

Have to run again, but I am open to tips/other ways/etc. or I wouldn't have joined. I would have liked to put
the logo in the phonebook ad also, but maybe next year. lol That's alright, the logo's etc., are not the magic bullet
but the help. I am here for the knowledge though.

One HUGE difference is I am in the business of Replacing and repairing roofs. So, many times the roofs that wouldn't
be able to handle a strong rinse.....I am selling them on a replacement anyways. As far as time and profitable/etc.
Again, it may be a different business model because we are roofers. Every roof cleaning package always has a roof
tune up package offered or included / and a 5yr. no leak warranty. That adds a ton of value and increases our average
ticket. I haven't done the volume of roof cleanings that you guys have done. It hasn't even been a huge problem in
our area until a few yrs. ago. My average sale is around 2,000 dollars on roof cleanings. The tune up etc./ 5 yr. no leak
and a 5 yr. annual check up type service is included also (most of the time). Depends on what sale / package I am offering.
There is a huge amount of profits in making and providing a no stain no leak warranty. It is easier than you think.....even
if you don't have a lot of roofing experience. I would never damage these homeowners shingles. One question
I have is.....I always here no pressure etc.

Well, roof age and condition is a HUGE factor. Pouring a glass of water can knock of some shingle tabs on some houses.
I have to run. Excited to be a member. There is a lot I haven't said, but I have to run.

You do NOT, I repeat do NOT, need ANY pressure to clean or rinse a roof.  Let God and the rain rinse, the correct chemical does ALL the work.

Do NOT ever use 3/8 hose EVER! It is too small, and will choke your pump.

Minimum is 1/2 inch hose, and 5/8 hose is even better.

Like most new friends who come to the forum and join the RCIA, you are lost right now. I would be lost fixing or installing a roof too.

It is not what I do. Do not feel bad! Before you open your wallet and start buying stuff, let us help you open your mind biggrin

We will help you, and make sure you get the right start. Just ask biggrin

I think his 3/8" is his pressure washing hose. We use either air pumps or 12v pumps to deliver our treatment and a larger hose would do better. $2000 is a good chunk of change to clean a roof. Somehow when I was new I landed a few nice ones where I gave really high prices since I wasnt so confident. I landed one in Rumson NJ for $2650.00. It was a big one but took me 4 hours with a helper. Funny part was she paid and she loved it. Today I would price that same roof at roughly $950.00.

Even roofs with moss and lichens will come clean with no agitation or pressure washing. It just takes alittle time. Think of it more like a "pest control" job rather than a cleaning. As long as your upfront with the process theyre usually ok with it, unless the realtor is coming the next day to snap a pic.

As a roofer, no one knows better than you of the importance of keeping the granules in tact. By becoming a Non-Pressure Nazi like myself and others here, you'll set yourself apart from every other hack that runs around blasting granules off roofs.

Youre a humble guy and take criticism well. I'd say your well on your way.

If your getting 2000 for an average roof cleaning then i would continue to just do what your doing. Forget what any of us has said. My most expensive roof cleaning is only 1850.00 and it took me 4 hrs just like ed.

Well I think you have to rethink how much you are putting on the roof and the system you are applying it with. The way you are doing it now you really do need the spider.
