Kyle,

How is the "spyder" being powered? Is it thru a pressure washer? im just asking questions and not breakin stones. As far as the walking on the roof without a harness( that is up to you) we do the same thing on most jobs. What exactly is your four step process? is it applying chemical ,rinse then apply chemical again then rinse again. Again just asking becuase i am curious.

Ted,
I will be helpful and I always am as soon as i have more info on what his process is. Also, I remember helping you out as well when you first started.

Question- I paid my 250 dollars. I haven't recieved an email or information. What happens next.
Do I recieve a manual or videos. When I joined NRCA I recieved a box full of videos/books/manuals
etc. They were more expensive though.
Am I allowed to promote RCIA on my website by using a logo? Thanks

Welcome on board. I think you should take the front PIC off your website, RICA is a non pressure site. just a suggestion.

Welcome. I just viewed your website/video and you're using methods that are not supported by our industry(non-pressure/soft wash). Also, you're walking a roof with no harness. Please safe guard your interests. Our methods will prove to be more productive, safer and profitable in the long run. Use the search button and read as much as you can. Believe me when I say that the premium membership is worth it's weight in gold. Like many members here we are here to help. Like you I'm in PA, albeit, just a little east(LOL). Reach out to me once you've completed some reading and I'll help you any way I can.

Hank

I know how to use the search button . smile

I read your 50 pt. standards to make sure we qualify.

Search your standard points.....wink.....and read number 12.

It also says use safety when necessary.  Do we go by OSHA rules?

Not being a smart butt, I am in a hurry so I am typing this quick and

will check back tonight.  Thanks guys., Kyle

I wouldn't say on page one of website not to use high pressure it can harm shingles?

and 4 steps guys.  So we don't have to blast it off.  I said we rinse with the sprayer.  What is the difference as long as

there isn't to much pressure?  It's not using pressure, not wether you use a hose or a machine type

sprayer.

Thanks,

Kyle

Welcome Kyle.  It's good to see a roofer here.

Once you get passed the 'jump in' you'll find most here are helpful and with good intentions.  (Emphasis on most  LOL)

Lastly anything over 60 psi is too much pressure for the shingle.

I don't recall mentioning you Mike.  Odd that you should feel the need to type that.

It felt as thought you were mentioning me and hank as jumping in the new guy and not trying to help him out. If that wasnt your intention than i retract my last statement.

Im a little slow, so it took me a second to add Kanga + Roof. Pretty cool play on words. You should dress like Crocodile Dundee and sport your best Aussie accent for marketing.

If i had to say what your doing on the roof, I'd have to say you were pressure washing. I genuinely have no opinion about how you go about cleaning roofs. Just an fyi, we all here push non-pressure roof cleaning. Our type is performed differently (actually much easier and more profitable). Part of the trick is on how you sell it.

First, allow me to ask what are the specs of the pressure washing machine that your roof cleaning gadget is hooked up to?

Does that gizmo have 1 bar, 2, or 3 (2 nozzles, 3 nozzles, or 4) and what are the specs of the nozzles?

Im not trying to trip you up with questioning, I'm actually just curious how these machines work.

 Kyle,

No black eye was intended and my apologies if I insulted you. I was more concerned about your safety on a roof like the one in your video. With the non-pressure/soft wash method you wouldn't have to walk a steep roof like that. It could all be sprayed/treated from a ladder at the gutter line. Lower pitched roofs can certainly be walked safely as we all have done. In many cases the use of tarps may not be neccessary as long as you have a ground technician who can stay focused on the task at hand. With the methods we use the set up and break down time is minimal. As I mentioned before the profitability, productivity and safety of the soft wash method, in my opinion, is the way to go.

Also, all my brothers here ask questions(on various subjects) as they are open minded to new ideas want to give advice based on knowledge they have. I say brothers because this like a family. Last year I had some health issues and even though I was a newbie many members voiced their concerns about my well being.

Again, my door(phone) is always open to you in case you have questions.

Hank

Oh man, I will delete those. The site is new. I have owned it awhile but it just had generic pics on it. website people must have either bought them (if you trademark pics you can sell them like clip art) I imagine they were just taken off google images. (his web pictures came up in search I imagine. I have my own to replace them. Lol How embarassing.

I inform any homeowner that want's instant results with a rinse, to wait for a good rain. Dwell time is key. I know I am going out on a limb here and exposing myself to ridicule about "dwell time" but it's the only way I can explain it from my warped thinking so bear with me...lol

Think of mouth wash...take a swig and spit it out. Did it do anything??? Yes it did... BUT, did it do as good of a job if you swooshed it around for a minute or so like the dental hygenist tells you too?  NO!!!

WHY NOT???  Because you apply mouth wash that kills bacteria BUT you wash it away instantly killing only a fraction of the mouth funk.

I also disagree with the Spider to rinse. It sprays WAY to close to the shingle surface. Even with standard household presure and no doubt, is removing granules. (look in the gutter)

I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers, but you will save yourself time, you will get longer lasting results and you will do your customers a favor by ditching that spider and leaving their granules on their shingles by applying your cleaning mix, letting it dwell and let mother nature rinse it (rain).
