Yes Chris, Ames is about 30 miles north of Des Moines, so we clean roofs in Des Moines as well. 90% plus of our homes have your normal asphalt shingled roofs, but occasionally we see cedar, and very rarely, maybe more often in older parts of Des Moines, there are clay tile roofs. There are a few neighborhoods in Clive and West Des Moines that are exclusively Cedar shake roofs. We ran into a homeowner near Iowa State University campus in Ames that had a 90 plus year old slate roof, still original. It could use a good cleaning, but was still structurally sound. All roofing systems can get much more than 15 or 20 years with proper maintenance.
