Sounds like your using to much spray or windy. Have not had this problem. Not to sure it is anything you did if not overspray or windy when you cleaned.
I understand that letting the customer know what they to expect it key and now I know to run it by them! My Aunt was understanding I just felt bad for her and did her windows, needed the practice anyway. We do wash windows so I have no problem upselling them. Just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem. I mean we havent had any good soaking rain, just a few showers but we definitly wasted our time washing them. Guess Ill just have to wait for some GOOD rain.
Thanks,' Quinn

Cleaned my Aunts roof a couple weeks ago, and she brought to our attention on how dirty her windows got. We then went over and cleaned, no problem. Now after another week and a couple quick showers and no real rain the windows are all messed up again. What do you guys your customers about thier windows?
I used to notice windows getting streaked when I was using LO as a surfactant. I have since switched to Roof Snot which had eliminated the problem for me.
You guys never had a problem with SH leaving residue on windows? I can understand that when it was initially coated, you can expect the wind and such to mark up the window when the love hits it. But after cleaing them we had a passing shower and now whatever windows that got some water run off from the roof on them via wind or whatever are a MESS again!! I will admit though that some of the roof got coated with straight SH before we noticed we left our intake line to the pump in the wrong barrel. Almost like it could be a salt residue?
I have Quinn. I have also stated to the owner that their windows will have some spotting and an occasional slight hazing from rinsing and combating the residual overspray from time to time.. Just let them know politely that you are here to clean their roof not the windows.

I also use roof snot leaves windows looking great 99% of the time. I cleaned a home yesterday, and for some reason 50% of the windows left a residue. I have been messaging Russ asking him if he knew why, it was about 75 degrees yesterday and some of our mix may have hit a dry window and not been rinsed immediately.
As for why it happened a second time, if you had light rain and some left over mix dripped down from the gutters, or the siding, that may have caused it.
Lastly, some older homes/windows may contain "lead glass" which might not clean up as nicely as most windows. This is just a theory.
I've never really gotten anything on windows, but I'd think rinsing immediately would take care of it. Maybe you'll have to break out the squeegee, or if you actually did ruin the glass, something more to restore the glass. How did you clean them when you went back?
We sqeegeed them. Where not professionally washing windows with windex...LOL. Working on getting a water fed pole setup to be more productive. They were gleaming when we left that day. One quick moving rain storm marked them all up again. Ordered some roof snot today. Ted I will give you a call soon.
Thanks guys
Quinn
