I'm looking to buy an aluminum ladder rack for an 8 ft bed Toyota Tundra and I've narrowed it down to the System One Heavy Duty Utlility Rig or the TracRac T-Rac T-Rac G2. Does anyone have any prefeneces on either of these two racks. The TracRac clamps on to the bed rail and the System Oe is drilled. Other than that they are both real similar.
I would recommend building your own aluminum skid / rack. Basically, for the same money, you get a much better product; customized to fit your needs. You just need to find a good welder
So it one thumbs up on the TracRac and one thumbs up on the System One. I'm using the ladder rack on work truck that will have the equipment mounted in it so going thru a car wash isn't going to happen. From what I can tell both of these units can be easily removed though.
I can remove the system one rack within 5 minutes and back on in about the same time or less. Only 4 nut and bolts on each rail and the actual racks create the stability. Well worth the 375 for the racks. I have also had them for about 4 yrs now and they still look new.
