Roof Cleaning by A&E contracted this shingle repair and Non Pressure roof cleaning job during the PA Garden Show. The barn roof is composite slate shngle and is covered with black stains and algae. Today, prior to the cleaning scheduled for Tuesday March 27, we replaced some damaged shingles. Before and after pics of cleaning will be posted tomorrow.
The pictures were taken today. Notice in the first picture, you can see the barn roof's original color in a small area under the copper weather vane. Final picture shows the roof was restored to original color.

Looks great, but 4 coats? how hot of a mix where you using? You decided to go with the surfactant I see.
I used a 70/30 for the first 2 coats then bumped it up to 50/50 for the last 2. It was an 80 year old roof and was really dirty with moss and lichen too! I did use a surfactant because it was a composite slate but today, I am cleaning an authentic slate roof and will not use a surfactant.
