Treat it like a cedar deck.

There is a lot of info in the search bar and also on the home page in the cedar shake cleaning thread.

Quinn - use no high pressure on that cedar.  You'll want to 'three step it". If you can't find any info on that, feel free to give me a call on Monday, as I'll be taking a much needed day off.

No-high pressure on cedar - it's a soft wood and you'll blow the heart wood right out of it. (ie ruin it).

If you have never stripped a deck, walk away from doing an entire home. It is tough. Seriously, do not do it. I have a lot of experience with wood and log homes. Start with stripping decks and learn there. If there is solid stain currently on the home, you may be able to just wash and then recoat with the same color solid stain. If the homeowner wants it stripped, pass on the job. I understand it is family, but you may ruin the siding.

Ive searched and searched and can't find anything on cedar siding, can't even find staight answers on shakes. All Ive found on shakes is theres a 3 step process involving S precarbonate and oxolic acid that about it, it seems like most of the process may get pm'd. If any one can give me a run down on cedar it would be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Quinn
