Does anyone have a fall protection plan that they use for each job site ?
From reading the rules, it sounds like we need to have a site specific plan for each job. I would think we could have a generic plan that would be filled out for each job. I found one on line that could be changed a little, and should work for us. It is attached. Take a look and see what you guys think
I don't think you will get many responses because the link makes us download the word file. I won't look at it..... so my bet is no one else will open it either.
well i looked at it becuase you dont have to download it you can just open it. I think its a good idea and it just takes a little work maybe 5 minute to fill that out.
I don't think it would be too hard to rework it some to fit better. To me it seems best to shadow your rules or guidelines from a company who has incorporated a fall arrest/protection plan and must abide by the rules of OSHA/ as well as the state regs. I work in a fall protection/prevention world on a daily basis, my full time job depends on my following their/OSHA and state rules. Having said all that, I haven't gotten anything written in stone for my roof cleaning biz just yet. But I'm working on it, any help along the way would be appreciated and I'll post progress also. I do know that OSHA doesn't play around and a simple slap on the wrist for violations, shouldn't be expected.
if i remember correctly any place of employment that has 10 employees has to have a safety plan (ie; ladder safety, fall protection,Respiratory Protection paln (with fit test certification) traning plan w(/tool box talks), and all of these need to be documented.
Chris, you may be right on the number of employees needed for a safety plan. I am not sure. But, I believe any company that has someone doing roof work needs to have a site plan. I posted the one I found because I think we all could use it, with a little input from everyone it could be re-written to be a generic plan, where we just fill in the blanks for company name, location, and date. Then we would be covered in that area.
