was just curious how you guys are getting pw/roof cleaning business this winter in the northeast? with the mild weather i've notived a lot of us are staying busy.
most of my work this winter is commercial flat work that i got from cold calling last year. haven't gotten any residential calls since early december.
also, are you prospecting (flyers, mailers, etc.) residential now and if not when do you plan to do so? i was planning to target residential at the end of feb but maybe i should start earlier?
Mike, Try 123print.com. They have some ggod stuff at a resonable price. I tried post cards . It didn't work for me. They have a nice door hanger that I put in the mail box flag. I do the block that I'm working on. I get good results.
I am lucky enough to have a big customer list from deck cleaning / staining and chimney sweeping. It has helped my roof cleaning biz alot. Here in Central PA, 98 out of 100 people don't even know a roof can be cleaned.
I made a informative/promo flyer with before and after pictures..... and a spot to write in an estimate..... Also includes an offer for a FREE DEMO..... plus.... in BIG TYPE ----- you pay NOTHING if you are not satisfied with the results. Never had to do a job for free..... I did have to reapply once or twice.... (just for show).........
This is a little different than most here.... I use scotch tape and tape them next to the door knob or beside the garage door. I've never had a complaint.
Cost is cheap for me to print them at Office Max....
I am not getting any roof cleaning calls right no, and I wouldn't just go out for one job or so. I agree with Art that post cards don't do much. To stay busy I try to walk the dog and do a little electrical work each day {vacuuming}

I would not stick the tape to any painted surface, I would be so afraid to get a complaint saying the tape removed the paint when they pulled it off, and demand me to pay to repaint something, having something repainted could be costly.
