My Titan reel leaked after 1 1/2 years (rinsed every day).

I'm bypassing my titan after tearing it apart today, it was getting eaten up, I flushed about 95% of the time last season, that was not enough. Venting the trailer, tighten up my supply tank and put 60mil roof mat down. It might help.
So running SH through a stainless hose reel will still lead to premature failure? I'd been told that they would hold up to it, but listening to the experts is how I keep improving my business so it sounds like it's best to use the reel for holding the hose but unreel it and use a quick connect to bypass it. 10-4.

Jason the hose reel will last you a life time if you do it that way! I use to do it that way,

I'm not sure I understand how you guys are doing this without making a mess of things. You unreel the hose (enough for the job), then hookup the end of the hose to the pump discharge. Spray the roof, then disconnect the "quick disconnect". Where does all the roof mix in the hose go when you windup the hose?? Do the disconnects close when you disconnect them?

After I am finished cleaning a roof I run water through the roof cleaning hose to flush the SH out into the SH tank. After the SH is flushed out I continue to flush the pump and hose with water and recycle it into my 200 gal water holding tank.
Between jobs I'll throw the hose in the truck. At the end of the day is when I rinse out the hose and roll it back up. An inline shut off before the quick disconnect would work great to keep the love in.

Marcus,
That seems like a lot of work if you have to flush it out after every job. What if you have three or four jobs in a day?

If your not to concerned with your reels or swivels don't bother, I have been using the same reel now for about 14 years which 3 of them has been for SH no problem here, however I do rinse them out at the end of the day. I use Reelcraft reels, maybe their much better quality than others?

Bruce, that would make my day. Roof cleaning has not caught on in Houston Texas yet. I am lucky if I get 1 roof a day to clean. The most I have ever cleaned in one day is 2 roofs. I can not wait till roof cleaning catches on here in Houston Texas. With the way the economy is at the moment I would be happy if my roof cleaning, power washing, or pressure washing business picked up.
Getting the most longevity out of equipment that costs that much is important for sure, a few extra minutes to reel off and then taking time to rinse hoses seems like a small price in comparison. I can't wait for spring so I can unveil my new box truck set up, it's still under construction but I'm itching to go. I'm definately going with stainless hose reels and pray they last forever.

Let us know how the stainless hose reels hold up. I have heard conflicting stories about them vs aluminum reels.
