what are your favorite ingredients that are in your house wash to clean vinyl siding, and how do you apply your cleaners, and how long do you let the cleaners dwell, and what's your technique to wash the siding.
My self I use ten gallon minute machines, I use a x jet, I use S.H, and ammonyx,
I wet all the vegetation down, I usually spray cleaners on the entire house before I clean, I rinse the vegetation after applying cleaner to each side of the house
then I just rinse the house down with an open gun?
How do you do it?
It usually takes me about 40 minutes from the time I pull up to the job to the time I reel up to clean a large size two story home by my self or 30 minutes with a hose man (helper) however If I'm not pressed for time I do slow it down and try to get another house in the neighborhood.
does not include gutter whitening

Thats all that counts, if it works for you it works. It's like killing a chicken, there is no wrong way. You can wring a chickens neck and watch it run around. You can put it on the block and cut its head off with a hatchet..then watch it run around without a head....or you can have a buddy throw it as high as he can and shoot it with a shot gun. I don't recommend the last one, you could chip a tooth eating it...But all 3 ways get the job done..

I have tried to clean houses like some here do, by using a small pressure washer, or their soft wash equipment, It's just doesn't work for me. Today I tried to wash a ranch style home with a five gallon minute machine and I just couldn't take it, its to hard to rinse small debris off, all you do it blow it around, with eight gallon per minute or better does a far better job.
Well Clyde I have washed only a handful of vinyl sided homes I used Sh and some dawn. I sprayed on with the 5880 12V pump and let sit for about 8-10 mins then rinsed down with a hose. Now again don't power wash just not into it, these were more like favors. I shared!
Good thread Clyde. I'll x-jet or downstream. I like to have a helper. We go side by side. Spray the soap on, scrub gutters and rinse side then move through the rest of the house.
We downstream, SH@10-15%, with a citrus house wash, we give it about 5 minutes of dwell, then rinse off. We do not let it dry. Gutters, well it depends, if just algae, SH knocks it off, but if you get the tiger stripes, then we use a product called gutter shock, and we hand brush. Will not just do gutters, whole house or nothing. I won't do old aluminum siding that is oxidized. If you get into siding with heavy emissions, good luck.
We hand brush when necessary.
Our house wash is easy on windows, just a rinse. Dawn might cloud them up?? Watch the screens, we had to buy some last summer.
Low pressure can damage siding, stand back and use larger tips.
It is hard to reverse 20 years of neglect in just a few hours, what kind of finish would your car have if not washed and waxed in 20 years?
First we irrigate the surrounding vegetation. We use 15% SH and Dawn. Then we apply and let it dwell for about 10 minutes. Rinse then rinse again. We never let it completely dry on the windows. We apply from the bottom to top. Hope that helps.

Mike, that is a really cool looking trailer, can you show me more pictures of it?

Just like you, I use 12.5% SH and Ammonyx.
I downstream inject at 20%.
Dwell time is a factor of the technique applied, temperature & sunlight condition. Up North it will take longer than in the South. In the summer when the sun is full dwell time is about 10 seconds. Same time of year on a cloudy day and dwell time is about 20 seconds. Nov - Feb when the sun is full dwell time is about 40-60 seconds.

Why would your mix affect the screens? Ive never had that problem
The mix would not hurt screens. But... Aluminum & fiberglass window screens are both worn down by the ultra violet rays of the sun over time. They become very brittle and power washing can tear the screens, even though it is low pressure. Been there done that.
