booked a commercial job this morning, did a roof this afternoon, and just booked their neighbor for this weekend ... can't believe it's coming up on december and we're booked.
not patting myself on the back, just sharing in the fortunate mild weather we've been having ... God knows we deserve it after all the precipitation this year

What I learned from AC in Tampa is that in Florida sales go up right before the holidays. They want a clean house for family and friends that are coming over. I've never seen this either but seeing it now. Did a house and roof yesterday and got some more lined up too!
Holiday season Pat, we get busy with people wanting to spiff up for the holidays and get a lot of last minute exterior house washing (wanting new painting for winter protection but gettin too cold/rainy days). Also people pay attention to their houses exteriors in early spring and fall. During summer everyones busy or shut-up indoors due to the heat. In the winter, well, its just too damn cold. Change of seasons stir people into doing things around the house.
Spring preppin for summer fun, fall wrappin up for winter hibernation.

I guess your right Adam, but I shake my head when an estimate is given in April and they call now wanting it yesterday. Looks like we are going to stop when the " hoses freeze "like mike from Jersey said. I only have one more looks like that won't happen to me.
I've got a customer calling for outside work in the last few days that I told needed to be finished before the end of october due to weather instability 2 years ago but its out of mind till they have people coming over for thanksgiving. Then they want 2 weeks worth of work done in a day. Go figure.
We're still knockin em down. One of my guys just quit. F' em. Actually felt good gettin back on the roof. Got some big plans for next season. Glad everyone's still adding to the winter nut.

Cut dead weight as soon as you spot it or they will only drag your business down Ed. If he was a good worker thats one thing but if theres issues I'd rather hire another guy one week at a time intill I find his replacement. Your prob. better off. Now that the leaves are down I'm taking notes on houses that are bad and hopefully make a real run this coming spring. I'm tired of workers milk'n it, rather do the work myself than have employee's who think you owe them to keep busy. They work for you not the other way around.
