gary i really dont think it will but ive been wrong before. If thats the rule where i can make promo post and keep my links up then i really see no need to renew my membership if thats how its going to be.

When you have a member that has had active signature links, and then you deactivate or remove them, not only do you harm that persons SEO, but you can look bad in Google's eyes as a Forum as well. RCIA is a Page Rank 3 Forum!
This is very high page rank and indicates Google thinks a lot of us.
Now, the way I understand it is this. A Grandfathered Member can have active signature links ONLY. It is totally unfair to paid members to have someone churning out promotional posts after promotional posts w/o paying.
Jeff needs to be told that if he does not become a premium member, his promotional posts will be removed. He may keep his signature links.
There is no Grandfathering in promotional posts, only signature links.
thanks for the clarifications chris but i dont think one member out of how ever many members we have deactivating thier link is going to lower our ranking on google. But i could be wrong and if i am i appoligize.

Probably not, but Google does not usually trust these forums. It is way too easy to manipulate links with forums, and Google watches for this in their newer updates.
Plus, it hurts a person when you suddenly remove a bunch of backlinks to their website.
I have no desire to harm anyone just because they choose to be cheap. But I will not have them make a mockery of members who support us. Jeff must be asked to pay, even 25 dollars at a time if he is broke. If he chooses not to, his promotional posts must go, simple as that.

sounds good to me chris i believe that is fair.
Jeff needs to be approached with kindness and respect. He has been doing this (cleaning roofs) a long time.
Some of his posts that apppear to be promotional are quasi educational vs blatant promotions. I think if it is explained to him what is happeneing, he may understand, and then again, he may not.

Thanks Dave! Jeff was just bragging how busy he was/is so the 100.00 should not be a problem. But some think they are above paying it, for some reason.
All it takes is ONE promotional post to find it's way to a customer, and very often they do, IF they are worded correctly, and tagged properly.

Can you tell me how to word it and tag it properly?
OK, lets use you as an example. Roof Cleaning Raleigh NC is too crowded to aim at, so we aim at Shingle Roof Cleaning Raleigh NC
We title the post Shingle Roof Cleaning Raleigh NC,and we use ONLY the title of the post in the Tags, with a comma after every word, like this Shingle,Roof,Cleaning,Raleigh,NC,
In our post we might say, Here is a Shingle Roof Cleaning in Raleigh NC we did last week.
P.S. Are tags only supposed to be one word. "Dirty roofs, ugly roofs, roof cleaning,"
Is wrong?

Tags can be either/or, I like a comma after a single word, the MISTAKE people make is trying to make one posts do too much, aim completely after ONE search term, and make a post accordingly.
