MOSS AS tHICK AS SHAG CARPET on a 10 year old roof

I did a job a couple of weeks ago and the roof was only 10 years old but let me tell you it was rough looking, the customer had a quote to replace it and he saw my ad so he called me and I went out and had a look, it was a big job lots of moss and lichen , to a point it was so thick in sections it was like rolling up a shag carpet, ataached are befor and after pictures, the customer could not believe their eyes when we were done ,

it was like they had a new roof.roof cleaning

Nice job Nick...that roof cleaning came out great! Did you rinse the dead moss off or did you wait for a good rain?

Actually I took a brush and brushed the moss and then blew it off with an gas blower , then I put on the love, should I have not bothered brushing before the application of the love? no rinse, at the end of the day the roof was spotless though

I haven't dealt with any moss like that but have read about others hitting it with the mix and letting it die and dry up then coming back after a few weeks to remove it if a good rain hadn't removed it for you. Looks like your method worked out and would stick with it just as long as there is not a lot of granular loss when brushing off the moss.

Also, I like your set up...that bucket truck rocks! biggrin

Nice work on that roof. We deal with that all the time in New England especially in the next town over from me that's almost like a forest... so many trees. Naturally many homeowners don't really think about it until they see me doing the neighbor's roof. It's one after the other after that. Sometimes I'll get stuck on the same street for days with the homeowners saying "Me next."

I thought you were switching over to non-pressure/soft washing and getting away from the process you are advertising on your yellow book website. Late last year we did homes in Newburgh, New Windsor and Monroe. This is normally outside our service area but the client owns all these properties and couldn't find a non pressure/soft washing provider in his area.
