I have roof cleaning job coming up and the owner doesn't want the old patina finish to get ruined on their copper gutters. What methods are most of you using when protecting copper gutters from our roof cleaning mix?

Use a pump up sprayer to finish up the roof down at the gutter line possibly?

If you're worried you could mask them off.

To be safe, I am going to use visqueen strips (three foot overlaps) and clamps.

We just completed a roof cleaning for a customer with copper gutters and the mix did absolutely nothing to them. Everything was fine when we finished.

I agree with Larry, I clean dozens of homes yearly with copper gutters or copper fixtures and the pitina will not get affected by chemical. Only time copper can change color if when it is shiny fresh brand new just installed like a brand new penny. Which in time even that copper will brown and pitina with just simple weather.

I would not waste my time or money on wrapping the gutters with plastic they will be fine, but if it makes you feel more comfortable do it.
