What's going on in Texas? Two roof cleaners are selling out, and Marcus says it's slow. WTF? Did y'all clean all the algae, or is it the economy, or what? Before my time, I hear that NC cracked down on all the powerwashers during a drought, but the PWNC (which I will probably join this year) fought back and business went on. If it's something like that, let us know, 'cause y'all got friends. Long live roof cleaning!!!!
Yeah, WTF is going on with roof cleaning in Texas ? First Scott from Confident Roof Cleaning Houston Texas sells out, then we see 3 more roof cleaners from Texas selling their stuff ?
I's prolly the drought hurting us alittle bit where i'm from, But I'm not giving it up just cause it's slow...I have another job that pays the bills until this one's full time!! Just gotta wait it out, plus I just picked up dryer vent cleaning so that's alittle extra cash flow aswell!!

Bruce makes a good point in the premium side!!
Glad you picked up dryer vent cleaning! We been doing that a while now. It helps! As an add on service, or by itself. PM me if you have any questions about pricing, or the service itself.
Severe consumer education is one of the biggest issues everywhere. You see neighborhoods filled with dirty roofs, I don't think all of them are flat broke. What I am finding is when they see things in action, curiosity gets the better of them and the questions flow, jobs get sold, in Florida, maybe not so much, it is when they get around to it, very passe' attitude.
All I can say from my perspective, is that it is a hard sell to people that do not know it can be done. Its even harder still to tell them they have to pay for it. lol.....One difference in Houston and I would dare say all of Texas, the HOA's do not require roof cleaning here. I wish they did! I know the next thing some will say is to go and talk to the HOA and tell them what we do! Easier said than done! I agree with Kim on her point. I just want to get on the right street and start educating! Until then.....
1) Lack of commitment/resources to do what it takes.
2) Not knowing what it takes.
These are two of the reasons I see people in our industry going out of business. Not just in Texas but everywhere. Don't worry though for every one you see selling out here there are 3 more starting up the same day.
Fortunately we have been able to stay pretty busy cleaning roofs in Houston texas. Being in business here the last 8 years and having a good customer base helps alot. Our customers trust us and know that we will be here tomorrow and therefore they refer us to there neighbors and friends. We are so thankful for the Loyalty our customers have shown us.
