Wouldn't do it.
#1:Can't let customer run the show
#2:To late in the day for that
#3:If someone has waited a month and now it's an emergency....something smells fishy to me

Would never RUSH to get a job like that "started". When I do that mistakes happen. I would have to agree w AAron.

I agree with both Doug and Aaron, Starting a big job at 2pm may be cutting it close.

I think you guys are mis-reading the orginial post. I believe it was meant as a "what if" could you do it question. Al in NO way said he would do it, just curious about what everybody thought.

That is what I meant. I was thinking if something like that came up. I wasn't putting my rig away at the end of the day in a ready condition for the next job. I now have a neater cleaner everything in its place routine. I have a check list of things that I used and need for the next job. I make sure I have them on hand and ready to go.

My truck is always ready, If I wasn't doing anything at the moment I would be all over it, It is only 2:00 with a solid 6 hrs of day light, heck yea.

We do that all the time.

I always keep everything prepared and ready. Where there is work money is to be made so you always have to keep in mind a client just might call you at the last minute. Victory loves preparation! Al thats great that you have a checklist that is very smart!

Yes, we would be ready. We always carry an extra 20-30 gal of SH and there is always mix left from the previous job.

My truck and trailer are checked and left ready to go after parking it after each days work.
I don't like prep work in the morning.

We did 3 on the fly yesterday, you don't have to tell me twice... Bam. Winter will be here before you know it!

Never more than 30 minutes delay in getting to a job on the fly. Too competitive out there to wait around.

My rig is always ready. May have to re-up on chems but that only takes 30 min or less. Im sure my helper could meet me at the shop very quickly if needed and the other one (My Wife) lives with me. No problem there.

Great comments guys and gals. I've learned over the years that putting everything in its place and always being to go for the next job is a must. In a perfect world, I believe I could be there by 3:30. Realistically though, I don't think I would always take the job. Just my personal opinion!

We too, can be rolling within literally minutes. I keep ample SH on the truck. If we're running low, I dump it to a ground tank and make a run to my supplier to keep us in a 'ready state'. (Like being on the alert pad back in the Air Force days)

Those unscheduled types of jobs that come out of no where are often my favorites - unplanned revenue

Always ready to go like others have stated we may need to run back to the shop or the supplier but that's the beauty of having a trailer. I can leave it and my employees at the site to get started while I run out to pick things up.
