Robert if you're brand spankin new I would take the time and read through all of the threads. Learn to navigate your way around the forum. This is a very real place so its not like sticking money into some crack hole in the Bronx and hoping that.........well never mind. Youre more likely to get your questions answered by some of the veteran members here if they know your here to stay and not just suck the life out of this place then bail.  Becoming premium will get you there much faster.

Rodney I wanted to comment on your other post that had been closed, so I will do it here. You stated you have been gone from rcia for awhile, so you have not been here day in day out to see what has been taking place. Some members have grown tired of " Guest " coming on here looking for all their questions to be answered overnight, then spliting without giving back. I speak for so many on here who have read,executed,read some more then asked questions. Those are the ones who are premium members and have been on here for awhile, so yeah sometimes they may come across angry but most of us " ole timers " understand and let them vent. If new guest get offended or insulted because they have given up trying to learn by their third post, then maybe they have been babied to much already and should toughen up! As far as A/C board goes I believe thats by invite only correct? Or atleast I think it was in the begining, I am also a member there as are so many other of RCIA members. So welcome back, but don't come back all high and mighty judging anyone on here for a post when you " perhaps ' don't know what your talking about. I like A/c's board or " paradise " as you described it, this ain't paradise, you gotta watch your P's and Q's sometimes but thats alright by most of us. So heres the RCIA I know " Hey Robert, stop asking questions that you can find the answers to in the search area, if you dont find it search some more. Become a premium member to show your not all about taking. If I upset you thats a shame, dont go out of your house until you can take a little heat without crying, it will do you good in the long run! Now heres a box of tissues for who ever needs it! { My opinion on this does not reflect the opinions of the other RCIA members! }

Many have came and demanded answers quickly. That is not learning, it is kinda a kick in the whole reason for this forum. I understand the intro and welcoming from others here. I have met a lot of great people from the forum and some are lifetime friends. There is always room for more  great friends within this RCIA network, but this is not 7-11 where you ask the clerk what isle is the candy bars. In essence a little tact would be in order for newcomers to this place.

As far as AC's forum being paradise,for me that is pretty strong verbiage for a forum. Bustin your can building business is not always paradise and this forum does not sugarcoat much (not saying AC does) but RCIA is the reality for many roof cleaners and a place to get down & dirty in this industry.

Sorry Patrick, I just had to say my piece.

Kim R

BTW:

Welcome, Robert Day, we all really hope you stay around for a little while, many really do! smile

As a newbie I feel I can comment on this. You don't like people asking newbie questions, you don't like people coming here and then leaving, you don't like............So why comment? If you don't answer their questions because you feel "they haven't paid their dues" or "I searched why can't you?" that's fine. But verbally brow beating people and telling them to grow up is insulting. Bottom line, you should never say anything in a public forum you wouldn't say in person. (PS you come to forums to ask questions, discuss problems, etc)
forum = a : the marketplace or public place of an ancient Roman city forming the center of judicial and public business b : a public meeting place for open discussion c : a medium (as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas
Bottom line, much like your television or radio, if you don't like what's on change the channel, or in this case do not post. Negative post hurt the forum by discouraging new traffic.
Just my opinion.

one thing, and i don't know anyone of these guys personally, but i don't think they would shy away from saying it in person, they'd probably lay into them a little harder actually ... truth is, if you're starting out, you will get tested on this site. kinda like a green horn on deadliest catch. if you're serious about this business, and really want it, you'll suck it up, take the few demeaning comments like a man, and will quickly realize that these guys are truly here to help

I learned that you gotta have some thick skin around here and you have to prove yourself first before people will give away the family secrets. Trust me though, it's all here but you have to put in some time with the "search" button. I read endless hours of threads for months before I chimed in with my first roof cleaning post.

Search, Read and Take Action!
