I assume that you are talking about shingle roofs only?

There are certailnly time that we must use a surface cleaner on tile and poly roofs.

Sensitive areas.......place where ZERO chems are permitted......

We use a 6' water brrom to rinse large poly roofs and a ride on cleaner to clean them.

Seriously Guys, some places will NOT allow Chemicals to clean a roof, no matter what.

Joe from Sarasota Roof Cleaning does HUGE jobs where they will not allow him to use his chemical roof cleaning equipment.

His first choice is always to clean roofs chemically, it is faster, better for the roof, less work!

But the final decision how the roof is cleaned is Joe's Customers.

My concern was that thinking that using the proper tool for the job was wrong seems short sided, using a surface cleaner on a tile roof is done all the time down here.

What am I smoking, well, Ididn't think you had to be mind altered to do the job correctly.

Pass the bong ? You know Chris, I believe I met you at the rt last year, and I recall you and your wife telling me that you all just did this part time and had never done any commercial.

We clean acres upon acres of roof every year, 85% of it is polymeric, so that gives me around 20+ million sq ft per year of just poly roofing, walk every inch of it? Ride it, with a custom built ride on surface cleaner, reclaim it as you go and make tons of $$ fast, impress the customer and get more work then you can handle, but I guess you knew that already huh?

Use chlorine on a hospital roof,  ok, I suppose as long as you turn off the AC systems, can you do it with chlorine? Of course, but alomost never allowed, and what do you do with the run off? Reclaim it, of course, and we can and do, however your now dealing with 1000's of gallons of mix. SO using ZERO chems is not only a contract must but a benaficial to our bottom line, but I guess you knew that huh?

Use chlorine on a a regional bakerys roof, ok, but what happens when your chlorine gets in the air and kills the yeast in the bakery? No bread production for a few days? But once again you must have known that already huh?

Water broom, why not rinsing at 6-9 feet wide at a time with a 20gpm rinse pump keeps far ahead of evaporation and helps avoid the settiling of organics back to the roof surface, but I guess you knew that already huh?
