good luck !!

Also will like to see results. Are you going to scrape the moss off then spray or just spray.

I am going to spray let it sit for about 45 minutes then use a garden hose to hose off the larger pieces then spray one more time. I no its a little extra but I want to be safe, and the home owners pay a little more for this service, I offer two types of service, 1. I will treat the roof and leave the dead moss on there letting mother nature do the work, about 4 months of Northwest weather should work, or option 2. I will treat roof, hose off the larger pieces then re treat roof. Most go for option 2 especially when they see all the dead moss that turned white.

when you spray the moss off with a garden hose do you see more damage to the roof then if you just let mother nature run its course?

Thanks for the info, I havent done a major moss job yet

I used to " rinse " years ago but not anymore. The damage caused by rinsing moss of can be incredible. If you feel you have to rinse consider what a pm I am sending you.

Looks great. But if you rinse of the moss isn't it gonna just land in the gutter??? Do you anticipate this happening and charge them to clean the gutters???

I clean alot of cedar shakes roofs and fine rinsing the moss is the best solution for results. Because dead moss onced dried will still hold to the shingles and doesn't give the best result.

Just my two cents.

Yea, I hate moss and lichen,..never an easy way to have instant results. I rinse with a big nozzle using my washer and whatever comes off without "picking" is fine,....but what doesn't has to stay behind and allow time to get rid of it. The hot Sun is better at destroying moss than rain,..although they work together to get rid of moss.

If a customer doesn't get it (which most do),...I would just walk away. It's their fault, not the yours.

Here's one that mother nature and I are working on; the whole BIG house looks like this. When I come home from vacation next week I'll see how well she did her part of the job.

Hi Mike, how have you been? Good to hear from you.
I'm down in Orlando right now introducing the 6 year old to Micky Mouse and wont be back home until Wednesday night. Checking the weather back home shows heavy rain for the next two days and that's just fine with me; I left 3 roofs in need of a good rinse. The roof in the pictures was in pretty bad shape, especially because it sits on top of such a beautiful house. I'm sure it's going to need a little more mild work with a brush/pole and one more coat of sticky S.H. to have it look like new again. This is nice because it's in a rather upper class area with plenty of nasty roofs. The home owner asked if I could do their parent's house and I'm already getting calls from the neighbors. I'll be sure to post pictures of the job when it's finished.

It turned out nice Mike.  I left several roofs in limbo while I took the family to Florida for a weeks vacation.  The customers were very pleased with their roofs.  I always like to give the roofs a final quick coat when the job is finished, just a light sticky coating.
