guys this moss is about 1/2 inch thick over the entire side of the roof, believe it or not underneath the moss the shingle is in good condition, should I just spray like any other roof or am I suppose to scrape this chit off lol
Maybe lightly broom it after, a test section to see how the granules hold up. We broom roofs after we install them but they are new shingles which could be the difference in significant granule loss on this roof. If this one comes out would be one heck of a promo post.
Find Jeff. I believe he posted something about a product to use on thick moss. I can't seem to find that post. Wish I could, in the meantime I hit stuff like this with 75% SH
the guys in wasington state and oregon deal with roofs like this all the time. me I would do it like any other roof , but I have a feeling I would be coming back for another application, unless, we were to get all the rain we have gotten in the last 4 days "17 inches" of rain would rinse that chitt off

I did a roof last weekend that had moss, go see the pics I posted. I found that after I sprayed the roof and took a brush on a poll to the moss, it didn't do any damage to the roof. A light brushing did the trick while it was still wet. On that roof I would hit it after brushing. That's my
Hit it with Copper Sulfate first, then go back a few weeks later to clean it with a Chlorine, Water & Sodium Hydroxide mix. then rinse. This is a Chris T. receipe that will work. You must kill all the moss first before you attempt to clean it.

Is it just me, or is it strange that a master certified roof cleaning of america instructor is asking how to clean a moss covered roof?
